Chapter 17
As I walked back into the ballroom a cocktail of expensive perfume and cologone wafted under my nose. As I smoothed my hair back into place and took my seat a waitor served a creamy cheesecake infront of me.
"Just in time for desert!" My mum said, in a way that hinted 'so, tell me where've you been'. I simply smiled and took a mouthfull of my cake.
I watched as Tristin walzted into the room and regained his place at the top table, exactly 20 seconds after I'd walked in. Not one member of his family had noticed he'd been missing.

The night went by slowly as I watched couples dance, and children ballroom dance on their father's feet. No other teenagers left their seat so I assumed it was 'un cool' to participate. Which was a shame because some of it, actually looked fun.
As the night came to an end, we began to head to the front to get our car from the valae's but we were stopped, by Tristin's father.
"Hello there I'm Mr Reece, chairmen of the club." He said shaking my dad's hand. Mr Reece sounds better when Tristin says it I thought. I knew how much Tristin despised his father which made me hate him too. I just couldn't get over the horrific things he could say to his own son.
"I would just like to thank you for becoming members and welcome you to the club!" He said, trying to sound friendly. He had a small conversation with my dad, which I could tell he felt awkward through out, while my mum and I hoped on our feet trying to fight the chilling breeze that had come with the night sky.
When their conversation was finally over and my dad got back into the car, he turned around to us and said:
"What an obnoxious man."
Well said.

As I scraped my hair buttery hair into a high messy pony tail and began to take my dress off ready for bed, my phone wrang.
"H-hello?" I said stuttering as I tried to undo it with one hand.
"Hey, Kate, you allright?" It was Tristin, I nearly dropped the phone on the floor.
"Tristin, ur hey!" I said trying my best not to sound as startled as I really was. But then I remembered, he was my boyfriend now. He can call me whenever he wants.
"Sorry to call you so late, what are you up to?"
"Ur just taking my dress off, you?"
"What right now?!" He said sounding confused.
"Ur yeah? I can multi-task you know." Why was he so startled at the fact that I could do both things at the same time. Talk and change, not hard.
Then I reaslised I'd just told him I was taking my clothes off right at that moment and being a guy he probally thought I was naked. Which I was.
There was a pause on the phone, as though I could tell Tristin was smiling.. and thinking. And then I heard him let out a small chuckle.
"Oh! No, I mean, my pajamas. I'm just.. my pajamas. I...."
"Kate don't worry I know what you meant." He said laughing.
"Good." I said seriously trying to change the toppic. "So what are you doing?"
"Just laying in bed." And then I thought about Tristin lying there, in huge bed, in boxer shorts and his toned abs. Talking to me right now. In his boxers. Right now.
I let out a deep breath.
"Er Kate, you there?"
"Uh yeah, sorry. So um cool." He laughed again.
"And you thought my silence was awkward." And then we both laughed at the same time.
"So tonight was good, wasn't it."
"It sure was, girlfriend." I blused at the word. "I just wished I coould have seen more of you, you know?"
"Well you did see me... on the beach." I said cheekily. He cracked up a little at the memory.
"Yeah I know."
"But someone saw us."
"Im sure no one did, it'll be fine." I wasn't so sure but I decided to let it go. "Any way what are you doing tomorrow?"
"Well my parents and my brother are going out so I was just going to do some homework or something I'm not sure."
"Homework? Really?" He chuckled. "You sure a wild one Kate you know that?" He laughed some more.
"Hey!" I replied laughing too.
"I'm only joking. Well that's cool, you know if you want to do that. I was just thinking because the weather is meant to be really hot tomorrow that you might want to go swimming or something, like at the beach or in your pool or-" The thought of Tristan coming over to swim with me sounded a lot better than maths homework did. I began to blush as I thought of Tristan in his swimming shorts that I alsmot forgot that I was on the phone to him.
"Yeah that would be great!"
"What the beach or?"
"No, come to my house. I've been looking for an excuse to try out my new pool."
"Okay, great." I could hear the smile in his voice. "Wait, you haven't used your pool since you moved in?" He said sounding shocked.
"No, I haven't really had the time." I said honestly.
"What have you been doing?"
"Urr, well I've been with you." I said shyly.
His little laugh broke the silence. "Oh yeah, well in that case I'm glad you haven't used your pool yet."
I arranged a time for Tristan to come over tomorrow and with that thought in my head I went to bed happy.
