Early July, 1981

'Mum, Dad, I'm home! OW, who left this cup here? I bloody stepped on-' Marlene's voice turned into a scream as she turned on the light and saw blood on the floor.

'MUM? DAD? MATT? MASON? MAX-' Marlene began but stopped at the sight of her parents and brothers. Letting out a horrified gasp, she covered her eye's quickly, sobbing. Her family had been slaughtered and lined up neatly in the kitchen, looking as though an animal had attacked.

Marlene ran out of the kitchen quickly, unable to bear the smell of their blood only to find it had been smeared all over the walls. She broke down and curled up on the floor with her head resting on her knees.

'Hello, dearie,' growled a voice, and Marlene screamed as she looked up, recognising him from the wanted posters and Remus' stories.

Fenrir Greyback.

She grabbed her wand and pointed it shakily at the werewolf, knowing most spells she knew wouldn't affect him.

'Aren't you pretty? I would turn you if I wasn't on orders to kill you all,' Greyback continued, his scratchy voice full with pleasure as he came closer. Marlene instinctively stepped back.

'Get away from me!' Marlene shrieked, her wand shooting random curses in defence that only rebounded off Greyback, causing her to duck. 'You're a monster!'

'Your friend is just like me,' Greyback snarled, baring his yellow teeth.

'No, he isn't!' Marlene hissed, 'He's not a murderer! You're sick and cruel and disgusting!'

'That's what he said,' the werewolf shrugged, picking at his teeth with his claws. Marlene was petrified to see blood on them. 'We've got him locked up now, he'll join us eventually.'

Oh, Marlene thought in dismay, That's where Remus has been.

'He'll never join you, and even if he does it'll be to protect people!'

'A werewolf doesn't protect honey, he attacks. You talk too much and I'm bored.' He suddenly lunged at her, causing her to shriek in fear and she backed away quickly until she slammed into the front door. She fumbled with the lock as Greyback lunged again from behind and bit into the back of her neck.

She screamed in pain as she tried to push him off, still feebly fumbling with the door. He pulled back slowly, licking his lips as her vision blurred. She grabbed at her neck, clutching it in fear as blood poured out of it. She turned to see Greyback creeping closer, his eyes raking her body as he bared his teeth.

Marlene sobbed as she pressed her back against the door, feeling blood drip down her back. She screamed as Greyback ripped into her again, slowly tearing her apart just like he'd done with her family. On and on until she was nothing but a pile of blood and ripped flesh.
