Fabian and Gideon Prewett

Someplace in Britain

August-September, 1981

'Gideon, watch out!' Fabian yelled as he grabbed his brother's head and pushed it down, before leaping up and shooting a stunning spell at a masked figure.

'What the fuck?' Gideon murmured in shock as his eyes widened, 'Fab...'

Two figures they recognised as death eaters stalked towards them, wands held aloft.

'Gid, get the hell out of here!' Fabian shouted, pushing his brother away. 'Go to Molly and keep her and her kids safe!'

'I am not leaving you here!' Gideon insisted as he threw up a shield charm to deflect a purple spell from hitting them. 'That is Dolohov, watch out. He's using his special evil purple spell.'

'I'm not joking, Gideon!' Fabian hissed, immobilising a death eater momentarily. 'Oi, there's Malfoy, I can see his wig!'

'Not joking my arse,' Gideon muttered to himself as he suppressed a smirk, given the urgency of the moment. 'I'm not leaving without you bro.'

'Then learn how to duck, you bloody dumbhead!' Fabian joked, pulling his brother down again as a green light flashed above their heads.

'Learn to cast a shield charm, you prat!' Gideon shot back, grinning openly as he deflected a blue light. Pointing towards a third death eater, he added, 'I think that's Carrow - Amycus maybe?'

'I think it doesn't matter because both Carrow's are here now,' Fabian pointed out as a fourth death eater appeared beside her brother.

'Five little piggies went to the market,' Gideon smiled to himself as a fifth death eater appeared, 'Do you know we have five nephews?'

'What? No, we have six.' Fabian said, frowning slightly. 'Yeah, 'cuz Molly had another - Ronald I think - in March last year.'

'Bloody hell, how did I forget that,' Gideon shook his head in disbelief before he laughed again. 'I'm the favourite uncle.'

'Hell no,' Fabian argued, casting another shield charm, 'Charlie loves me, So do Fred and George.'

'Bill and Percy love me though, and I bet Ron loves me too,' Gideon argued back.

'He'll love me more,' Fabian said firmly, 'Oh, did you know the Potters had their kid?'

'Really? Wicked!'

'Yeah, Sirius told me. They named him Harry. I would say he would love me too, but Sirius will definitely be his favourite uncle. He's just turned one, crazy.'

'FABIAN MOVE!' Gideon screamed suddenly pushing Fabian out of the way just before a green curse flew past them. Breathing heavily, they turned back to the five death eaters.

'Avery,' The one they knew to be Lucius Malfoy hissed, 'Get behind them, Alecto you go left, Amycus you go right.'

They were officially cornered.

'Gid, if I don't survive this, I love you and Molly, and her dozen of kids. Make sure you say how much better I was than the marauders when it came to pranks in your funeral speech.' Fabian whispered, fear written all over his face.

'I will if you promise to do the same for me,' Gideon replied steadily.

'Making wishes for your death are you?' cackled the voice of Alecto Carrow, 'Sorry, but there won't be any survivors tonight.'

'You're going down too, don't worry,' Fabian shouted at them defiantly, standing back to back with his brother.

'I doubt that,' Lucius drawled lazily, 'It's five against two.' He was indeed correct, but numbers never deterred the Prewett twins. The duel began in earnest, the air filled with shouts of;

'Avada Kedavra!'

'Stupefy!'

'Crucio!'

'Expelliarmus!'

'Impedimenta!'

'Petrificus Totalus!'

The Prewetts blocked the curses well and even managed to knock out Avery and the Carrows. The twins found themselves being cornered again as Dolohov and Malfoy drew closer.

'Bet I can knock Dolohov out,' Gideon whispered, earning a snort from Fabian.

'I bet I can knock both of them out.'

'Nah,' Gideon grinned back, letting out a surprised gasp as Malfoy raised his wand and shouted, 'Avada Kedavra!'

'GIDEON!' Fabian shrieked as a blast of green light hit his brother, blowing him into a wall, a look of surprise on his features. 'YOU FUCKING MONSTERS!' Fabian screeched, turning back to the death eaters. Dolohov laughed mirthlessly as he pulled his hood down, revealing his sunken dark face.

'Don't worry lad,' Dolohov assured, 'You'll be joining him.'

'Crucio!' Fabian cried, anger and fear pulsing in his veins. Dolohov blocked it easily as he raised his wand.

'That's not how you do it,' he tutted, 'Here let me show you, crucio!' Fabian screamed as the curse hit him, falling helplessly to the ground as he writhed in pain.

'Don't play with your food, Dolohov,' Lucius reprimanded, lifting the curse, 'Just kill him, before the Auror's come.'

'Oh alright, AVADA KEDAVRA!'

The last thing Fabian saw before he died was a green light zooming towards him.
