Your knitted basket hit the ground with a thwump, landing in a pile of red and brown leaves. You quickly kicked off your small shoes; freeing your sore feet from their leather coffin. Relief spreading through your chest, a smile pulling at your lips as you sighed.
Soft e/c eyes traced over the view infront of you, a pond filled with greenery that made your chest burst with feeling; it truly was stunning.
Almost instinctively you inhaled the sweet scent, savoring the smell again. Having been coming here every chance you got recently.
You'd been freed nearly a full year ago now, though you still relished in the freedom this world had to offer. It was much different then his palace, if you could even call it that, seeing as it was more like a nation for one man.
It didn't have the basics of earth, there were no bodies of water or forests that covered large areas. There were no wildlife running free around the terrain, no birds or bees or crickets. The sun didn't rise or set there, he controlled it all.
To be fair, it was in a different dimension entirely.
It kind of made sense to you, though the concept of someone having their own world was genuinely terrifying.
You shook your head, as if the thoughts would fly out from your ears that way.
Having only been there a short amount of time, maybe 2 months, you hadn't gotten to experience everything his world had to offer. Though, you were just happy he brought you home. People had questioned you on why he brought you back, why you were a special case of the sacrifices.
You didn't have an answer, and you don't think you'll ever get one.
Truthfully, the only thing you remember about the journey home was waking up in his arms. Bright colours flashing all around you, you knew you were flying, the air pulling against your hair told you that much but you couldn't remember why.
Of course you were thankful he decided to bring you home, though sometimes you wished he hadn't at all. Horrible rumors of you sleeping with him, or offering up your first born to be brought back here circled the town and then the nation.
Rumors that you didn't think were true, though your memories were kind of shot from when you were there.
Now though, you understood that you traveled in his interdimensional sphere, one of his neat little powers you found written in an old book. There were many, but trying to decipher all of the words proved difficult.
'He probably used that stupid sleep magic on me again.' You kicked a rock into the pond, it was his favourite trick.
When you werent behaving or saw something you shouldn't have all he had to do was twist his hand and you were out like a light. Memories of what happened before would blur together and you probably wouldn't ever figure out what happened.
A twig snapped behind you, your entire body turning to take in whatever had pulled you from your thoughts.
"Oh, hi big T" You smiled at the blonde, turning back toward the pond as you slide your hands into your pockets. Though Tommy didn't move to stand next to you, instead he stood perfectly still behind you.
After a moment of silence, you opened your mouth to tell him off for just standing there but he beat you to talking.
"He's back."
Any words you had for the younger male left quickly, your head snapping back to look at him. Was this Karma for thinking about it so much? Was he really back after all this time?
"What?" You blinked at him, looking for any sign of this being another stupid joke of his. You prayed quickly that he'd laugh and run off screaming about how easy you are to fool. But, he didn't.
"I am so sorry Y/N, but hes asking for you." Tommys voice cracked slightly his gaze cast downward.
Your fingers twitched as you bent to grab the basket, pulling your shoes onto your feet. "Tommy," You spoke softly, moving to grab his shoulder but he flinched away.
Your breathe hitched as you finally took in his appearance, his clothing tarnished and his prized diamond boots missing. "What happened?"
He shrugged and rubbed at his shoulder, "Dream showed up too, he said something about wanting to see his dad while he still could. But, he saw me and went crazy." Tommy inhaled deeply, looking back up at you and offering a weak smile.
You quickly pulled him into a hug, his shoulders relaxing as he hugged back. "XD, he saved me- i- i probably would be dead right now if he- if he didn't step in and knock Dream out."
"I'm glad you're okay Tommy, i'm so sorry he came back and i wasn't there to protect you."
A sob mixed with a laugh pulled from his throat, "its alright, but we should get back XD is not a very patient man."
-
You pushed through the edge of the forest, and immediately it was like the air thickened, your lungs begging to be able to take in full breathes of air. Though oxygen felt limited now.
Warily you glanced back at Tommy, who stood still against the line of trees a few steps behind you now.
Carefully, you looked back to the town, eyes watching the top of the roofs to see the rather tall god but you couldn't see his blonde hair. You could feel his presence though, which only encouraged your legs to start moving.
Acting without thinking first, something you did a lot - it was almost out of your control.
Slowly you rounded a house, and moved towards a back alley slinking through the darkness and out in to the towns centre.
You stopped, eyes meeting his own through the mask.
You could feel his eyes trace over you, you swallowed thickly but made no move to get closer.
'Y/N' His enchanting voice soothed inside your head, lulling all your thoughts so you could only hear his voice. 'You're finally here.'
