He stared at her. Why is she doing this to him? Doesn't his feelings matter? "You seem to be drunk, Mona. I will talk to you later." She held his arm before he can leave. "Is this about the past? Oh come on! It was just for fun!" He swallowed his anger and pain before looking at her. "I will appreciate if you stop bothering me Ms. Kapoor." He shook his hand from her grip. "Playing hard are we? Everyone knows that you still love me, Laksh. There's no point in acting as if you hate me." She wasn't going to back down. He will lose his composure if this goes on. When Mona was about to touch his shoulder, the doors opened and all heads turned to the entrance. Laksh smiled widely when he saw Saanvi. Mona just looked at her with disgust as she is well aware that Saanvi looked more beautiful than her. Who the fuck is this bitch! She was nervous as she noticed that Saanvi had gained attention from everyone. Laksh's mom hurried to welcome them and so did his dad. The Kapoors family were tensed at the attention they were receiving. "It's so good to see you. I was dying to meet you, Saanvi." His mom hugged her. Soon, Saanvi's eyes searched for that one person she was dying to see. She quickly excused herself and made her way to him. "You look beautiful." Laksh couldn't take his eyes off her which made Mona angry. Saanvi blushed at his comment and bent forward to whisper to him. " You look breathtaking yourself." Laksh couldn't stop the heat rushing to his cheeks. Mona was witnessing everything and so were her friends. They quickly stood behind Mona, comforting her. Saanvi noticed her and she quickly smiled at her. "Who is this, Laksh?" Laksh turned to see Mona with her friends. "Meet her Saanvi. She is Mona Kapoor. My very old classmate." Saanvi forwarded her hand which she shook with a smirk. And soon to be Mrs. Arora! Mona wanted to add and before she did, Laksh introduced Saanvi. "She is Saanvi Shetty, my fiancee!" Mona was shocked to hear this. Did he really forget about me? No! I can't let it happen! I can't lose to her! "Nice meeting you Saanvi." They shook hands again.

Saanvi

She is giving me those bitchy vibes but she is his classmate. I shouldn't be rude. I looked at him again as he spoke to his partners. He looked really handsome in that look. He is a Lady's killer tonight. Fiancee! My cheeks heated up again as I remembered. "Saanvi right?" I turned to see Mona with a glass of wine in her hand. I just nodded before looking back at the crowd. Didn't we just meet? We were standing at one corner and my family was with his'. "How did it happen?" She asked as she looked at him. Don't be rude Saanvi! She is his friend. "We met and the magic just happened." "Do you know he won't agree for the surgery no matter what!" She added. I just nodded. Acting is better than talking. That way I won't slip. She is really giving me very bad vibes.
" What do you do?" "Iam a Doctor. What about you?" "I don't have to do anything you know." She replied with arrogance. "How are you even a match when he is a top notch business man and you are just a mere doctor?" She gulped down her wine and waved her hand to get another. I rolled my eyes. What is her problem? "Is there any rule that a doctor shouldn't be with a business man?" I stated with a smile. I ain't the type to sit back and let her comment her nonsense. "Yeah! There is no such rule. How are you so sure that you aren't marrying him for his status? I mean he ain't good looking for you to fall for his looks." I was about to lose it when aunty called me. "Saanvi dear, come with me." She pulled me with her and introduced me to her friends. "She is my to be daughter-in-law. Isn't she beautiful? She is a doctor too." I smiled as she was showing off me to her friends. My heart swelled up with pride.

The party was beaming with excitement and joy. The introduction of Saanvi and her status has put the Kapoors family in a fit. It didn't go the way they wanted. Mona was furious at Laksh and his affection towards Saanvi. Is he just showing off? She wanted to get in between them. Do everything she can to break them. "Mona babes. Don't worry. We will do something." Her friend reassured and left. Laksh was taking a call upstairs when her friends noticed him and started their play. "Isn't she just miserable?" "Yeah! I bet she is after his money or else why would she accept him?" They giggled as they know that Laksh was listening. "Mona was his first love and it is only reasonable that Mona is just giving him a chance but he seems to show her off. I mean she doesn't even look like she is into him. Poor doctor have to deal with him for the rest of the life." " Yeah! Now we are talking and later others will talk. That is her future. She won't be able to dodge people's opinions." Laksh fell into their trap. They are right. Iam showing her off ignoring the aftermath. Will she get hurt? It was as if they were hearing his thoughts. "She will get hurt! Remember that incident at the college? She may face the same fate as him. I pity her!" At this point, Laksh lost it. His heart constricted as he imagined her in his place. People looking at her with the same disgusting and pitiful look. Does she deserve this? No! No-one deserves such humiliation. No no Laksh! It won't happen! Now you are in a high status. They won't dare say anything. But what if she faces the criticism? Will she hate me then? His mind was in chaos. Her friends had managed to mess up his mind as they know his weakness. The thing I most feared, my nightmare! I can't let it happen to her. Not after the fact that I love her. How can I let my love get hurt?! The only thing that can be done now is to push her away. Maybe staying apart from me, she will be safe. From people! It hurt him to decide such a thing. It might seem unreasonable but for him it is the most  sensible decision. Ofcourse it's going to hurt. But if she can be happy, it must be done. He looked down at the party from the stairs. There she was, smiling brightly. She was like the only light in the silent sea and he was like the lonely sailor making his way to the light. How can I let that spark disappear? He has made up his mind to let her go. He has decided to let her go and make her happy but who would tell him that he was her happiness!
