"What does she do?" My mom asked her parents. They looked at each other. "She did her MBA in California." That was all they said. "So what do you plan to do further?" She looked at me and then at her parents with a confused look. Was my question too hard?. Apart from the fact that she studied abroad, she doesn't have any other qualifications in her career. I noticed that she dropped her eyes. "Uh...If you don't mind, can we talk in private?" They let us into her room. Her room was too girly. Shelves were messed up and clothes were every where. "So ...what do you want to talk about?" She asked. "Just random stuff like getting to know each other."I sat down on the sofa which had some random stuff hanging on it. I am not an OCD but I like when things are organised. "What about me? I did my MBA in California. I want to start a business." I don't know if I was wrong but I felt a tinge of attitude in her tone. "That's great. What business are you eyeing on?" "Whatever brings more money. I don't have anything in particular." My heart fell as she mentioned about 'money'. "Okay so what are your plans?" It does seem like I was going on and on about her career but I think a woman should be independent and know what she wants in life. I can be her solid support but she needs to be goal oriented first. "I told you I will be starting a business." She sounded annoyed. I should stop asking then."Okay okay, I won't bother you anymore after this last question!" She nodded. " Do you like me? Or are you marrying me for money? If at all a time comes when I won't have even a penny, will you be there for me?" She stared at me for sometime and then answered. "There won't be any such moment right! You are quite rich. You have properties so you won't have such a downfall right!" I stared at her waiting for her to continue."I am not such a typical wife. I don't think I will be able to live without comforts so....." That was as expected. "Why don't we talk about transferring some property to my name before getting married?" She smiled with awkwardness. "I mean some security is always welcome right!" My heart completely fell at her mention of property transfer."If you are marrying me for money, then I would suggest you....its not gonna take our relationship much further. Sorry! It's a no from me." She started laughing after what I said. "Look at yourself dude! Do you think that women will fall heads over heels for your looks! Just let me tell you one thing....if at all a girl says ok for you it's only because of your money!" I glared at her and left the room. It's a fact I have been facing till now. It's a bitter truth that always slaps me. She is not the first one to say so. The way I descended the stairs, my parents understood that it is another flop match. We left the place after a formal good bye. It felt like it doesn't matter anymore. "Now what happened? She seemed fine to me. She was a sweet lady." My mom asked as I pulled my tie in anger and disappointment. "She was talking about property transfer before our wedding." My mom gasped as she looked at dad. "It's fine Laksh. We would have said yes. Money was never an issue for us. Right Raghav?" My dad nodded in reassurance. "If she can ask for property transfer even before our wedding then it won't much time for her to ask about property shares and she wouldn't even back out if she carries my child. Do you think I am an idiot to marry someone who wants to share my property even before she has shared my name?" I closed the door to my room and let out a deep sigh. Whatever she said, I was listening since the first match. Even though every girl says that, it still hits me Every single time!
I lay down on my bed and closed my eyes as a lone tear left my eye.

"So...you are saying that you don't have to earn! You don't even have to work?" I asked him. "Nope! My family has a lot of properties. I don't have to work. After marriage, even you don't have to work!" "Oh! So what do you do throughout the day?" I glared at him as he munched on the chocolate which was lying on my desk. Mannerless idiot! " I just enjoy throughout the day. I live my life king size!" " So...you don't work. You just enjoy your life. You waste the whole day chilling out. Hmm..." " So! What do you think about me?" He asked. I sat down on my bed and crossed my legs. " You are a good for nothing guy! You don't know how to work! You just waste your family's money! You don't even move a muscle! And you are expecting that I will be impressed??" He looked at me with confusion written on his face. " Sorry! It's a no from me!" I answered and he stood up. " What do you mean by a no?" " A no is a no!" I said and got up to leave. " You will regret your decision for rejecting such a rich proposal. You won't get another" "Hmph! Let me tell you that I am not a girl to fall for your looks and money! I see the character! If you are talking about money.. .let me tell you that it is not a matter for me to worry. Even my parents earn but I prefer working! I can tell proudly that I am a girl and I earn a 6 figure salary. Can you?" He stormed out of the room like a child who was going to throw a tantrum.
The same formal ending repeated. "When are you planning to get married?" My mom asked worriedly. "Mom! Fate will bring my guy to me ultimately! Don't worry!" I winked at my mom and went to my room. I am just waiting for my guy. A guy who will have only love to give me rather than his money. A guy who sees me as hardworking rather than just a trophy wife. Oh God! When will he come into my life?

Life is confusing! But it is life after all! They both are a perfect pair! Will Cupid finally make them meet or will they have to meet a few more clowns on the way. Let's wait and see.....
