Ash, Dawn, and Brock had just got back to the Pokémon Center, only for Rotom-Dex to start buzzing. "Its a call from the professor, Ash. You oughta answer." Rotom said. Ash pressed the green answer button, and Kukui's face took over the screen.

"Ash, are you at the Pokémon Center?!" Kukui asked, sounding worried.

"Yeah, we all are, why?"

"Rowlet flew off towards, Hau'oli, I need some help looking for him."

"Sure, professor, we'll help find him."

"Thanks guys, I owe you for this."

"You don't owe us anything, Professor."

"Well, I do owe you guys something, so, thanks for helping. I'll meet you guys at the Pokémon Center at about 11:00 if we cant find him, we'll keep searching tomorrow."

"Sounds good."

Kukui hung up, and Rotom's face appeared on the screen again. "I can help with this endeavor, Ash." Rotom stated, sounding confident.

"Really, can you?" Ash asked.

"Yep. Please press the PokéBall image on the screen, then type in 'Rowlet', please."

Ash did as instructed, and once he finished typing in 'Rowlet', Rotom performed a quick scan of the horizon in a 360 degree angle.

zzt-BEEP!

"1 Rowlet specimen located directly west from our location, approximately 5 kilometers away."

"Did you just locate the exact, precise location of Rowlet?" Brock asked, incredulous.

"Yes, only 1 specimen found. Judging from the fact that it is nighttime, when Rowlet is most active, this specimen is not moving, likely indicating it is sleeping. Kukui's Rowlet in particular loved to sleep."

"That could be incredibly handy in the future, Rotom. Anything else you hiding from us?" Ash asked.

"Aside from normal PokéDex functions, No. I can, however, save multiple photos and videos, and find each one immediately. This would be handy for reviewing battle strategies, and multiple other purposes."

"You are one handy Dex, Rotom!" Dawn said, wondering if Rotom has been taking photos of other things already.

"Anyways, lets go find Rowlet! We know exactly where he is, too. Rotom really made this easy." Ash said.

The trio ran off west, leading them into a forest, after almost an hour of walking, they found Rowlet sleeping in a tree. Ash plucked him out without waking it, but he couldn't carry Rowlet back without being positive he wont wake him.

"You have anything in your bag, Ash?" Brock whispered.

"No, except a few empty PokéBalls. Why" Ash whispered back.

"Maybe put Rowlet in there." Dawn suggested.

Dawn picked Rowlet up, and Ash unzipped his bag, then slung it over his shoulder. Dawn gently put Rowlet into the bag, but Rowlet shot awake, scaring Dawn, making her squeal into Ash's ear.

"Ow! Hey, keep the screaming out of my ear, Dawn!" Ash complained.

"Zip it, Ash!" Dawn snapped back angrily, then her face shifted into a pout. "Rowlet startled me."

Rowlet, for his part, sat still inside Ash's bag, then he melted into it, and passed out again.

"He just fell back asleep, despite all that." Brock said.
