Chapter 5
August 22nd - 124 days until Christmas Eve aka Louis' 22nd Birthday
Louis hugged his body pillow closer as he stared at the wall in front of him. He could hear the rain hitting his small dorm window in a constant pattern he had been counting to in his head. He sighed and rolled over again to look at this phone that was on his bedside table.

He frowned and locked his phone while laying it back on the table. Checking it every five minutes wasn't going to change anything. It had been almost two days since the disaster of a frat party and Harry and he had not spoken a word since. In a way, Louis was happy Harry wasn't reaching out because he wasn't in the mood to fight. Harry obviously didn't want to hear him out so he didn't feel the need to explain himself to the boy again if he wasn't going to listen.
Harry and Louis rarely fought. It was not a common thing between the two to have more than a small spat. They were Harry and Louis after all. Joined at the hip at age 10 and haven't looked back since. Only small disagreements over trivial things. Louis could count on one hand all of the times Harry had been truly cross with him and this was one of those times.
The way Harry had looked at him and the tone he had used still sent a painful pang through his heart. Harry had never looked at him like that before. Louis was used to Harry being his friend and his protector and vice versa. After he had been through something as traumatizing as what Noah had tried to pull a few nights ago he expected maybe a little bit of comfort from his best friend. But Harry was so far up his own ass he didn't even look at the situation had affected Louis, he could only see how it had affected him. That is probably what hurts the most overall. Louis groaned as he sat up in his bed and began to get up. His headache had finally subsided mostly as of last night but he still felt like a dead man walking.
He made his way into the kitchen and opened up the cabinet door. He took down his favorite mug that Harry had gotten him for Christmas last year that was covered in tiny little black and white footballs. He stared at it for a moment then shook his head and returned the mug to its place in the cabinet and grabbed one of the basic ones he'd gotten when he had just moved in. Harry was literally everywhere but he wasn't going to find a way to spoil Louis' afternoon tea as well. He grabbed his tea canister and opened it to take out a bag.
After he put the kettle on the stovetop he sat down in one of the chairs in their small kitchen. He sighed and rested his head in his hands as he closed his eyes for a moment. He hated fighting with Harry. It almost felt like he was at war with a piece of himself. But he was not going to be the first one to make up. Harry was the one who was in the wrong here. He was not letting him get out of this one without an apology.
When the kettle began to screech Louis went over and poured the boiling water into his cup and over the teabag. He carried it back over to the table with him and stared at it as it steeped. He was so lost in his thoughts hew was startled when he heard a clambering of noise from the entryway. Louis looked up in time to see Fred waltzing in rubbing his eyes as if he had not just slept for over 15 hours. He gave a small wave to his friend and continued to watch his tea steep as though it were the most interesting thing to ever happen before his eyes. He knew that if he looked at Fred he would probably burst into tears. That was not the kind of afternoon he thinks Fred was envisioning from himself. Fred sat down in the chair across from him and after getting comfortable stared at Louis meaningfully. Louis pretended he did not see his friend doing this while he continued to play his teabag staring game. Fred let out a small cough.
"Louis. You haven't talked about what happened. You just stormed into the dorm at 5 am yesterday morning and haven't said a word since. Did something happen with you and Harry? I've never seen you act like this before." Fred asked carefully. He watched Louis's face closely as if he was trying to gauge his reaction. Louis' grip tightened on his mug as he slowly shook his head at his friend, trying his hardest to hold back tears.
