I never thought in the past five years that I would let myself feel this happy again. Feel like I'm actually able to be with someone else again. I start crying because he's different from the last two. He listens, he cares, and he wouldn't even kill a fly let alone hit me. Nor would he say anything that invalidates me. But then that's what I thought the last time, that the last guy was different from the first. Will the cycle continue? No I think to my self, he's not a man who would hurt me. He wouldn't even raise his voice at me in a mean way. He's nice. After I recollect myself I take a deep inhale and drive home. Once I get home I go over to my kitchen and brew myself some chamomile tea once's it's done brewing I sit down on my couch and I check my phone to see Duff texted me l about an hour ago.
D- So how'd it go????
D-God damn are you two fucking?
Y-Oh fuck off
D- Did you guys or no?
Y-No.
D- damn. But how was the date??
Y-It was really good actually we're gonna setup a second date
D-Oooooo let's go! So what'd you two do?
Y-We just went on a picnic date then we want to his place and built legos.
D- That's adorable
We talk for about another half an hour
Y-Hey I'm gonna go to bed , I'm getting pretty tired I'll text you in the morning!
Duff- Alright, I should probably aswell got to pick up baby girl tomorrow. Night!
Y-night!
I go to my sink and put my mug in the sink. I then go to my room and take off my shirt and pants take off my bra then just through a night shirt over me then lay in bed. I plug in my phone and set it on the night stand and fall asleep.

I wake up to the sun in my eyes. I forgot to close my curtains so the sun is directly in my eyes. I roll over to my right side and check my phone. I see a text from Dan
D-Hey, I really enjoyed our date last night, and that stuff. I'm gonna be streaming all day basically trying to finish this game so I might not be able to talk much. If you want we can setup a date after I'm done with my stream.
Y-Hey, I enjoyed it aswell and thanks for letting me know. I'm definitely down to setting up the date after your stream I might pop in and say hi.
D-Sweet! I'll keep a look out for your name.

I go out to my living room and cook myself some food, after I do that I sot down and decide to play some animal crossing just trying to pass time. I check my phone to see the time. "Shit." I quickly put my shoes on and run out of the door and go to my grandpas to check up on him. Once I get there I open the door to see him asleep on an old lazy boy. Amber comes and greets me. I lean down and pet her "hi old girly" I say. I had taken here here a couple days ago upon my grandpas request. I pick her up and pet her. I close the door and my grandpa wakes up.
"Huh, hello?" He says he looks up at me.
"Hey Gramps." I say
"Oh hello sweetie. How are you!" He asks
"I'm doing great you?" I say
"Would you like some tea?" He says going to get up
"No thank you. I just came by to check on you, and start getting you ready to move into my place." I say
"Oh okay then. So how was your date?" He asks. I had told him about my date with Dan to let him know I wouldn't be coming over yesterday.
"It was really good actually. We're gonna plan a second date." I say
"Well isn't that fantastic! I told you he would be a good pick. He's a lot nicer than you're past two exes." He says
"Can we not bring up those two. But yes he is amazing." I say

I end up spending a good few hours with him, going over what all he wants packed today, and talking about grandma, my dad, aunt and uncle and their childhood. Although he's old I'm truly not ready for him to go. After everything I've been through here he's been there for me, and I've been there for him. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be here in Ireland, and I would of never of met Dan. I end up heading home shortly past 9pm.

Once I get home my mom calls before I even set my stuff down.
"Ah, Amore! How are you did you eat?"
"Hi mom, im fine just got back from granddad's, and yes I did eat." I say
"good good! What did you eat?! " She asks
"I made us grandma's Shepard pie." I say
"Fantastic! And Hows he doing?"
"Hes doing alright he had a little fall a couple days ago, and I decided to speed up him moving in with me, because im out for the summer, and its easier to watch him." I say
"That's good, his health is getting worse. And you have all that free time now. Also what day exactly are you coming home with him?" She asks
"That I do not know. Uhm probably last week of August." I say "Hey, speaking about that, can I bring a friend?" I ask sitting down at my counter.
"Of course love, what's their name?" She asks
"Uhm, His name is Daniel, I meet him through Duff, and since Duff can't come with me this time why not him." I joke
"Ooo a boy?!" She teases "ya know it's been a while and you're not getting younger.-
"Mom. Seriously. Every single time. I'm trying to move on, and this isn't helpin." I say
"Okay, but you're 25 now. By this time your father and I had you, and I was pregnant with your sister." She says
"Mom, the difference between me and you at my age. Is you meet is that the man you chose was actually nice, and wasn't a narcissist. On top of that, you didn't choose two of them in a row. Trust me, I'm trying to put myself out there in fact I did, but it hurt. And it'd be really nice if instead of every single time we chat you tell me to get a boyfriend. That'd you actually be understanding."I sigh and a tear falls down my face
"That I need time, I just need a little more time, before I'm ready to get into a new relationship." I say choking through the tears. On the other end it's just silent for a few seconds.
"I'm sorry. I-I know I just want you to be happy." She says
"I know mom. I'm gonna go I have a few things I need to do. I'll talk to you later." I say
"Wait you're eating though? Like cooking and not ordering all that unhealthy food right?" She asks
"Yes, mama. The last time I ordered food was like two weeks ago?" I say
"Ya know you shouldn't be ordering food at all it's a lot of money-" I cut her off "hey mom, my boss is calling me I gotta go I'll talk to you later bye love you!"I hang up and set my phone down and put my head in my hands and exhale deeply. I wipe my face a bit. After a few seconds my tears stop. My phone starts to buzz and I see it's a text from Dan.
D-Hey, just got off stream thought'd Id text you
Y- nice how was it?
D-it was great! I played Mario kart with the lads, and won.
Y- of course 🙄
D- hows your day been?
Y-good until my mom called
D- Oh how'd that go?
Y- Let's just say could of gone better.
D- how so?
Y- I Just got into a fight with her
D- Eek, yeah I get that. Im sorry that happened to you
Y- thanks, I'm just not in the best mood rn because of it
D- I get that, but how'd visiting your grandpa go?
Y- good! I got a good portion of his stuff packed up I'll probably go back over tomorrow and pack more stuff up.
D- okay! Hey I'm gonna go do something right now I'll talk to ya in a bit.
Y- alright! Talk to you later!

I set my phone down, and go over to my couch and turn on my tv. I debate on what I want to watch for a bit. Before just putting on Netflix and watching demon slayer. After a couple episodes i hear someone knock on my door.
"Who the fuck?" I say before going to the door and open it and see Dan. He's holding a bag, and some flowers. He's wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and converse.
"Hi!" He says smiling "I know you were upset, so I went out to the store and i got you some flowers, and a Lego set." He says I look down and smile.
"Thank you Dan." I say he hands me the flowers. Its a bouquet of my favorite flower, and I look at him surprised
"How did you know these were my favorite?" I ask
"I asked Duff." He says I give him a hug and smile.
"Daniel, you really didn't have to. This...This is too sweet." I say I release from the hug, but I put my hands on his arms smiling at him.
"Yes, but I wanted too. Now lets go build some legos!" He says he then closes my door. We walk over to the table, and build the Lego set, which was the bouquet of flowers set. I sit at one end of the table and he sits at the otherside.

"If you don't mind me asking, but what was the fight about?" Dan asks I sigh "it was about how every time she and I chat, she's always asking if I have a boyfriend yet." I say he nods
"I see, did you tell her about our date?" He asks I shake my head no.
"I didn't." I say I see him get a bit hurt by that. "Not because I don't want her to know about you! because I do want her to know about you. I even asked if you can come with my grandpa and I to America and she said yes by the way!" I say "oh that's great!" He says a bit somber. I take his hands and hold them, and look him in the eyes. "Listen, i do want her to know about us. I like you, I really do, but she's not the right person to tell about dates especially First dates. Like when I first moved her, and went on a date. She flew out here and interrogated the dude." I say Dan laughs at that.
"Im sorry I didn't mean to get upset by that." He says I Pat his hand. "No its fine! Listen your okay to be upset by that. " I say we both just sit there awkwardly while looking at each other. He chuckles and look down.  And then sits back
"I don't even know why I felt upset. Like we're not a thing, but like yeah." He says his face is bright red.
"Again, it's fine. I don't care if you show emotions. At least you show you care." I say chuckling. He nods looking down bright red. I get up and sit next to him, and rest my head on his shoulder.
"Really. I don't care. If I'm being honest you've honestly opened me up a lot. Just ask Duff, or my grandpa. I use to a bitch to any guy who showed me interest. But you've made me comfortable. You made me realize that I won't be hurt." I say
"Thank you." He says leaning his head on top of mine. He moves his arm around me.We sit there for the next few seconds in silence.
"You gonna put those flowers in a vase?" He asks pointing at the bouquet.
"And you've ruined the moment." I say sitting up, and patting his lap. He laughs "what I don't want them to die! I spent good money on those." He jokes I roll my eyes.
"We were having a moment Daniel!" I joke I get up. And go to the kitchen. He follows me.
"I'm sorry for ruining the moment." He says half-apologetic.
"Mhm sureee." I say grabbing an empty vase next to my fridge. I turn around and he's standing in front of me.
"I am!" He says  laughing
"Oh really?" I say he grabs the vase out of my hands. And sets it on the counter. I fully look up at his face
"Yes I am." He says, he wraps his hands around my waist
"Mhm, sure." I say I put my arms around his shoulders and smile. "Say it like you mean it. Tell me drift king are you truly sorry?" I say grinning at him. He chuckles and looks down. Embrassed
"How about this?" He says he leans down and kisses me on my lips. I pull him in,and kiss back.
