"You feeling alright?" He asks I look up he's holding two drinks.
"Yeah, just tired from people." I say he chuckles
"I feel that. Try living off of social media to where you have to make a post every day or else your fans think your dead." He says "oh here have a drink Duff made it." He says walking over to me. I move Amber and take the drink
"Not poisoned right?" I ask taking a sip
"Duff is too dumb to find poison, plus he wouldn't get away with it." He says sitting down at my computer desk.
"Yeah fair, but you could poison me." I say he chuckles
"Like I'd poison you." He says
"You would tho! Cause your upset I beat you in mario kart. Cause you suck at it" I say
"I do not suck! I am the drift king! Plus I was drunk most of the time" Dan says
"Bet" I say taking a sip
"Ya know what 1v1 after the party I will destroy you!" He says
"Alright I'm down, your still gonna lose" I say
"I will not because I won't get drunk ha! Also why do I end up drunk here a lot" he says
"Because, Duff is a damn good bartender." I say he chuckles
"You've got that right." He says
"So, when do you go back to work?" He continues
"Well due to it being summer break I don't have to be back till like The last week of august to get set up, but if I get setup beforehand then I don't need to go in." I say
"Nice, any plan till then?" He says
"I think my grandpa, and my cousin are gonna go to America to visit my family in like late August so I'm taking the first couple days of work off actually." I answer
"Ooo, when was the last time you saw them?" He asks
"Well I saw them during Christmas I went Italy with them. Then last year they came here. I haven't been out to America since... like my last breakup." I reply, I took a swig of my drink after I say that
"Oh damn, and when was your last relationship again? I'm sorry I forgot." He replies
"Five years ago give it take." I answer looking down
"Dang, have you've tried getting into a new one or nah?" he asks leaning forward holding his drink between his hands
"Nah, I was in two really bad relationships back to back. So I just took a break, I kind of wanna put myself out there again. I don't know." As I say that I notice his fingers start tapping his cup and his back straighten up a bit but still a bit hunched.
"That makes sense, and sorry I asked that I didn't know if it was a sensitive topic, and I'm sorry that happened to you!" He says sympathetically
"It's fine, I'm over it now actually ones in jail for domestic abuse!" I say taking another drink.
"Well that's grand!" He says we end up talking about twitch and Twitter for the next ten minutes before walking out of the room. I walk over to Duff in the kitchen.
"So what'd you two do?" He says poking my side as I put my cup in the sink.
"Just talked about life and what not." I say leaning on the counter.
"You two didn't kiss? Or more? You two were in there for a bit." He says
"I swear to god he's not into me man." I say
"Bet, He checked on you because you disappeared for a bit. Even I wouldn't do that! And your my best friend. I would do that for a girl I like tho." He says leaning back on the counter next to me.
"Whatever." I say rolling my eyes
"Your just denying love! I will get my money!" He says I walk away and go talk to my grandpa.
Around nine pm, everyone leaves except Dan, and Duff.
Me and Dan 1v1 each other in Mario kart. He ends up beating me. He's sitting next to me on the couch
"Come on admit it. I'm the drift king!" He says setting his controller down.
"Nope! I still have 2 wins on you!" I tease
"Do you want to do another round? Cause I will beat you!" He says
"Okay, I'm down!" I say he grabs his controller and we begin round two.
He ends up winning again.
"Come on, you have to admit it this time. I mean it's there I'm better sober." He says
"Fineee your the drift king." I say sarcastically.
"Ya know what, I'll take it." He says we both laugh and take a sip of our drinks.
"So Daniel why'd you take a break from streaming?" Duff asks sitting down on the chair.
"Oh, I was losing the joy of streaming because it was a while since my last break and it was really hard to sit down a stream for a long time, and then were a lot of comments about my appearance and that stuff. So I just needed a break." He says
"God, I don't understand why people make comments other people's appearance. Your beautiful just the way you are Dan." I say he smiles
"Why thank you! You are too. But a lot of people call me linguini from ratatouille." He says I laugh a bit
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to laugh at that!" I say he and Duff laugh a bit
"No no it's fine! Really! Duff has been saying that since he and I saw it!" Dan says Duff nods
"Yeah I have! Dude I felt so bad for you when we saw it!" Duff says crossing his legs
"What happened?" I ask
"Basically we were both out on a 'date" he says with quotation marks
"With our crushes at the time. At the end Dan went to ask her out, and she said no. Meanwhile mine said yes." Duff says
"Wait is that true?" I ask Dan nods
"Oh no! I'm sorry for that!" I say
"It's whatever, it was what 13 years ago?" Dan says
"Yep!" Duff answers "oh! Remember when you had a mullet?" Duff says
"Oh good god no." Dan says putting his head in his hands blushing.
"(Y/n) wanna see photos?!" Duff says I nod
"Noooo!" Dan says laughing turning bright red. Duff runs off to his room.
"Did you actually have one?" I ask
"Yes." He says laughing through the pain.
"I mean the second guy I dated back in high school had one too, but like Every dude where I lived basically had one." I say
"And how come I couldn't get a girlfriend with mine but your second boyfriend could get one?!" He exclaims jokingly
"Because the dating pool was really small it was basically for every 3 guys there was 1 girl." I say
"Ohhhh okay." Dan says
"Nice, was it pretty serious?" He asks taking a sip of his drink
"Oh yeah till he died." I say with no emotion Dan spits his drink out choking on it.
"What the fuck?!" He exclaims surprised. He starts coughing I laugh patting his back to help him.
"Omg Dan are you okay?!" Duff says walking back into the room.
"Yeah, just (Y/n) surprised me." He says
"What'd you say?!" Duff asks
"just told him bout my second boyfriend." I say Duff nods
"How did he die?!" Dan asks
"Oh he got killed in a car accident by a drunk driver" I say
"Fucking hell! How did you take that news?" Dan asks
"It was hard for the first few months then I got over it." I say
"Awe that sucks I'm sorry." He says I shrug
"Its fine, it was what 7? 8 years ago?" I say
"Anyways! Wanna see mullet Dan?" Duff says
"Yes!!" I say Duff hands me pictures and I look at them. Laughing at them.
"Okay, listen in my defense they were in style." He says
"No, Dan they never were especially not where we lived" Duff says
"You had one too!" Dan says
"Yeah because you did! I wasn't going to let my lad get laughed at alone!" Duff says
"Aweee thanks man!" He says
"No problem!" Duff replies I hand the photos back to him. Duff gets up and puts the on the island.
"Hey, (Y/n) You know the salt and pepper shaker your grandpa gave you?" Duff says
"Yeah? What about em?" I ask
"Ya know how one says your the salt and the other says my pepper." Duff asks
"Yeah?" I answer
"Which ones which. Because like the salt one that says salt could be pepper if you think about it-" Duff says
"Which one has fewer holes?" I ask
"The one that says salt." He answers
"That's the salt one. Salt has fewer holes than the pepper." I answer
"Oh wait really?!" Dan says surprised
"Yep!" I answer
"I did not know that what." Dan says taking a drink
"Yeah I didn't find that out till like after college because my mom gave me some shakers, and like it didn't say anything on them. So she told me bout that." I say
"So when do you think your moving out Duff?" Dan asks readjusting himself in his spot
"End of the month, I found an apartment with 2 rooms, and 2 baths." He says Dan nods his head.
"Oh nice what part is it near?" He asks
"Portobello. So close to here, and the pub." He says
"Nice is Aliah gonna have to change schools or no?" I ask
"Nope! were also closer to her mum's as well." He says as his phone goes off checking it
"Ah sick. So it's not gonna be a big drive to and from alright." I say
"Mhm, anyways I got to head to the pub anyways because Marcus just texted me saying they need help, because another fight just happened." Duff says standing up
"Good grief how many fights break out there." Dan says
"None on a good day, five on a bad day." Duff says quickly slipping his shoes on before walking out of the apartment.
"Hey Dan ya know how I mentioned me going to America?" I say
"Yeah what about it?" he replies
"Why don't you come along?" I ask "I mean your a big part of my life so why not introduce to you my parents" I continue on He blushes bright red looking down.
