After a moment I pull off of the kiss.
"Apology accepted." I say we both laugh a nit. He does his cute little smile where he looks down. He somehow got even redder. I look him in the eyes and for the first time in awhile. I actually felt my heart skip a beat. I stare at his smile for a few seconds. I then look him in the eyes, and I felt butterflies form for a bit.
"I'm sorry, it was way-" he says I put my hand in his mouth.
"No. No more sorries. That word is banned for tonight." I say I make eye contact with him. "I wanted to kiss you last night, but I was too nervous.." I say, I feel him smile from underneath my hand. I move my hand back down to his shoulder. He readjusts his hands to my lower back.
"Okay I won't say sorry. Instead I'll say my apologies." He says we make eye contact. I stare at his greenish blueish eyes, I've noticed so much love in them. There's also a million thoughts behind them. I just wish I knew what they all were.
"What are you staring at?" He says softly "you're eyes, their a lot more greener than I remember." I say "I like them though. They are beautiful."
"So are yours." He brushes a stand of hair behind my ear. "Now even more beautiful." He says flirtatiously. I look down and smile
"Still not as pretty as yours." I say "Well of course mine are prettier. Just look at me." He says sassily "
"I mean I could go home, but I don't want to do that." He says "Yeah I don't want that either." I say "You just don't kiss me and leave." I continue
"How about this. We play Mario kart, best of three. If I win you have to change my name to Drift king in your contacts, and if you win. I will stay the night and you get to decide the place for the second date." He says I roll my eyes "Ugh fine." I joke he lets go of me and puts his hands on his hips "Well if you're gonna have that kind of attitude with me I guess I'll just leave!" he exclaims and turns around before walking off to the table grab his things. He grabs the flowers and hands them to me. "By the way these still need to be put in the vase." He says I take the flowers and grab the vase, before filling it up. "Not my fault, you're the one who distracted me." I say
"Hey! you wanted an apology!" he replies. We both laugh a bit. I shake my head and put the flowers into the vase. "Just go turn on my switch! and get Mario kart setup!" I say he walks over to my living room and sits down on my couch. I put the flowers in the center of my table. I look at the half finished bouquet and smile. He really is amazing. I think to myself before walking over to the couch and sit down next to him. I see he picked Toad for me, and the kart i like.
"What map?" he asks I shrug.
"Random?" i say "frantic items?" he asks I nod.
After a few rounds of playing I end up winning by one race.
"YES LET'S GO SUCK IT DANIEL!" I say turn to look at him "HEY I WAS CLOSE I LOST BY ONE RACE!" he says sticking his pointer finger in my face. I laugh and put my head on his shoulder. He smiles and wraps his arm around me and pulls me in. he puts his head on top of my head.
"So where's out second date going to be?" he asks I look up at him.
"I haven't decided, but you'll find out when we go on it." I say he smiles "Okay, I trust you that it'll be good." he says I pull out my phone and see the time. "Wait what the fuck? Its like one am?" I say "wait really?" he says I show him my phone. "Holy crap. it feels like a lot earlier!" he says I nod in agreement. "I guess time does when you're having fun." I say before turning off my phone and looking up at him. "It really does." he says playing with my hair. He takes the back of it and throws it in my face. he smiles even brighter. I flick his forehead "Hey! rude!" he jokes. "You started it." I say I don't know why or how he does it, but I just feel safe, and that I can be like this. Its all going way to fast, but I like it. he leans down a bit and kisses my forehead i blush a little. I then boop him on the nose. we just stare at each other for a bit. My phone then goes off. I check it and see its my brother calling me on Instagram.
"Shit, let me answer this." I say leaving Dan's arms i answer it. I see my brother sitting at his computer. He's got my mom's dark Italian skin with black hair. He's a well-built kid. and is wearing a black shirt. he's got a ball in his hands that he's tossing back and forth.
"What's up Tony?" I say "Why'd you ask it like a question?! can't I call my big sister!" he says offended, tossing the ball into one hand.
"Tony the last time you called me was for girl advice, and $20." I say "Okay, fair. But no so like when you come into town, mom said what end of August?" he says I nod "yes, around there." I say "Cool, so I have hell week for football around that time, so let me know so I can see how much i can hang." He says "Cool, I'll let you know when I get the thumbs up from my boss." I say Dan says quietly "I'm gonna get a drink." before getting up. I nod looking at him. Tony stops and looks at his phone confused. "Was that a dude?" Tony asks "I- how the fuck did you hear that?! I barely heard him!" I say dumbfounded and confused
"Not the question. Is that a dude?" He asks I nod. "Ain't no way you have a man over at what? like 1 am??? That isn't Duff. After yelling at mom, for asking if you have a boyfriend?!" he continues on "DUDE MA WAS ALL UPSET BECAUSE OF THAT! I WAS WALKING ON EGGSHELLS MAN! To the point I had to bring the Littles not to yell!" He says pissed. "I'm sorry, for that Tony I didn't mean for that to happen." I say "Anyways what does your boyfriend look like." Tony says "Okay, first of all not my boyfriend. We're just seeing each other currently.' I say Tony grabs his face and rasies his eyebrow up. "Oh???! So soon to be boyfriend." I roll my eyes Tony laughs. I stand up and walk over to Dan in the kitchen. He's making himself an old fashioned. my phone is at my chest area "hey (Y/n), this. This is not a good angle for you." Tony says "shut up Tony." I say "Hey Dan, my brother wants to meet you. Is that okay?" I continue. Dan looks at me "huh? Oh, yeah that's fine." he says putting the cap back onto my bottle of whiskey "WAIT IS THIS DUDE YOU'RE BRINGING TO AMERICA?! MOM MENTIONED SOMEONE NAMED DAN!" Tony exclaims excitedly. I then stand next to Dan and bring my arms up to get him in frame. "Dan this is Tony, the annoying little brother of mine!" I say Tony nods his head. "Okay first of all, I am your sexist younger brother, secondly a huge upgrade from your previous taste in men. Cause this one looks well-formed and not like a douchebag." Tony says I roll my eyes at him when he says he the sexiest.
"Thank you!" Dan says smiling a bit "Tony, you're literally sixteen there is nothing about you that's sexy." I say "Shut up (Y/n)! Anyways Dan, what do you do?" Tony asks curiously "Oh, uhm I make content online." Dan says awkwardly "Oh shit really?! that's cool!" Tony says Dan sighs a bit with relief. Dan starts to take a sip of his drink "Anyways, you two fuck yet?" Tony asks Dan chokes on his drink in surprise "GOODBYE TONY!" I say quickly before ending the call. I see his face turn to an evil grin before I end the call. I turn bright red. while i place my on my counter and sigh. I pat Dan's back as he coughs a bit.
"Wow he did not hesitate to ask that." Dan says after calming down from the choking I cover my face with my hands
"No... No he did not. God I hate how he does that." I say "... I'm sorry he said that. I was not excepting him to do that!" i continue with my hands still on my face. Dan grabs my wrists and pulls them down. "Hey, I thought you said the word sorry was banned? Plus its okay. That's what brothers do." Dan says he look at me and I'm looking at the ground still embarrassed from that. He place his hand under my chin and makes me look up at him. "Its okay. When I told my brother about you he said the same exact thing!" Dan says I shake my head. "I-I still, legit I would of excepted that from like Duff but not Tony." I say still flustered. Dan hands me his drink. "here you need this right now" he says I take a sip and calm down a bit. "Thank you." I say handing it back to him. "No problem!" he says taking a sip from it.
"So, what now?" he asks setting his glass down on the counter.
"How about we watch a movie?" I say I go over to my fridge and grab a water bottle from the fridge.
"Sure do you have an idea on what you want to watch?" he asks
"How about the Lion king as you've never watched it." I say walking back to in front of him. "Like how have you've never seen it?" I ask opening the bottle and drinking it. "I don't know! it just like never stood out for me, but sure we can watch it. So then my chat can finally call me a cultured man." he says
"You're gonna need a lot more than just watching lion king to be a cultured man Dan." I say I walk over to the couch and he follows me. I sit down on the couch and he sits next to me. I turn on my tv, and go to DIsney+, and click on my account and turn on lion king. Dan sets his drink down on a coaster and i rest my head on his shoulder, and move my legs onto the couch. He wraps his arm around me. We watch the tv.
After awhile I look at Dan who's already fallen asleep. I smile at him. My head is on his chest and I can hear his calm heartbeat beating. It slowly puts me to sleep. Before going to sleep I think. I made the right choice this time. He won't hurt me I can be open and trusting with him.
