real lifeLee was woken up by Phil at exactly midnight, like her mom used to do for her past birthdays, just to be the first to say happy birthday. A minute later, Tommy texts her happy birthday, and she doesn't have the heart to tell him he wasn't first.
As it was, Lee's just vibing in Phil's new streaming room, laying on the couch she demanded to be put just off-screen. Phil is streaming some rocket league or something, she's not entirely sure. Hades is on her chest while she scrolls through Harry Potter fanfics, demanding attention.
All things considered, this is already shaping up to be a great lazy 18th birthday.
Just as she thought that, someone rings the doorbell. Lee sighs, reluctant to stand up, but Hades seems to have chosen for her as he jumped off her chest to run straight at the door.
Groaning, she stands up.
"Hey Phil, I'm gonna go get the door and probably get food." She says, passing behind Phil and into chat's focus. She waves. "Bye, chat."
The chat all but explodes with goodbyes, some even asking where she came from. She doesn't have the time to answer because, well, who the hell leaves the door unanswered? Not Lee, that's for sure. She was taught better than that.
It doesn't take her long to get to the door. Sneaking a look from the window at the side, Lee can see her boys all standing there, talking and waiting. Tommy is just about to ring the doorbell again, so Lee rushes back to the door to open it.
"What are you lot doing here?" Lee asks as she lets the trio in, closing the door behind them as they settle into the open space living room.
The new house is still pretty bare overall, and they still have a bit more back and forth to do with the stuff in the old place, but Lee's pretty satisfied with this. She's actually made it in Sims 4, as well. Or as close as she can get, since not everything they own has custom content for, never mind base game content.
Anyway, Lee passes the boys to walk behind the kitchen counters attached to the living room. She opens the fridge and grabbed three cans of Coke and a Pepsi because Coke is her least favourite soda ever.
Walking towards the trio on the couch, she listens to Tommy ramble.
"-and we have quite a bit of plans today so we're kidnapping you." The blonde finishes, looking at Lee expectantly. Lee raises an eyebrow in response, handing them the cans of Coke.
"It's my birthday," Lee says, her chest squeezing for a second before she forces herself to relax. She's still not used to putting herself first, even on her birthday, but her therapist said she needs to value herself more. And, well, let herself enjoy some selfishness too. She's only human, after all.
"We know that." Tommy says, over Nate's 'Happy birthday by the way,' and Toby's 'You're old now, Lee.' Suddenly, before anyone else can talk again, Tommy bowls them over to ask, "We forgot to ask for your pronouns, actually."
Warmth fills Lee's heart and she can't help but smile. "She/her today. Feeling very feminine, you know?"
"I don't, but I'll take your word for it," says Toby, grinning. "Aren't you wondering why we're here?"
Lee sits down on the bean bag she demanded to be put in the living room, looking at the boys with an amused smile. "I am, but I figured it has to do with my birthday. You haven't greeted me yet, by the way."
