It turned out, as a matter of fact, that Maniac wasn't lying when she said she had an impressive power over atoms. It was a handy skill when under attack, if a bit slow.

The doors had come open less then ten minutes ago, and since then a system had been devised between Maniac and Evil. Evil would slow them down as much as she could by messing with their thoughts while Maniac stopped them.

It was quite a good system, and both of them seemed to enjoy it.

That is, if it weren't for the fact that someone else was in control of the mansion that wasn't them. That took a considerable amount of pleasure out of the equation.

"I bet it was Bella and Cavet," Evil growled. "They knew we were coming!"

The pair was walking down the dark halls silently.

"Nah, Cavet doesn't like Bella." Maniac laughed. "Oh, she hates her, slit her stomach and spill her intestines on the floor! She hates her, and I do too!"

Evil ignored the last comment and peered around the corner before walking on. "This wouldn't be half as bad if the teleports were still working. Didn't you get Cavet's intelligence? Fix it already."

Maniac tilted her head to the side. "I'm as smart as Cavet. Smarter. Maybe not smarter, but better. Better and smarter are not the same things. Anyway, no. That's not how it works. Teleports can't be fixed from out here. They're controlled from one main place, like everything else in the mansion is. It's not a very smart plan, to be honest. Or a better one."

"Fine. Where's the main control point, then?" Evil growled. Maniac may have been a wonderful asset, but Cavet's quiet words and careful strategies were something to be envied for the both of them. Then again, she was all the mean while Bella was all the nice. She was probably pretty annoying too.

"Don't know," Maniac shrugged. "Cavet didn't want me to know. So I don't."

"Doesn't work like that," Evil scoffed.

"Well, I don't know. I'd apologize, but I don't like you." Manic retorted, glaring at Evil out of the corner of her eye. Evil glared back with equal malice.

"Then it's probably Bella. We've been separate for a while, she could have found the room after I came to be. This is going to be difficult." Evil sighed.

A war cry exploded from down the hall, and both Evil and Maniac immediately flattened against the wall as a flurry of bullets streamed past their noses. Evil winced and shut her eyes, and the bullets stopped immediately. Maniac stepped from the shadows to see a black-clothed figure standing in the middle of the hall, gaping blankly at her.

"Soon, please!" Evil grunted, and Maniac nodded. The person slowly dissolved in front of them, scattering into nothingness as they faded away. Maniac grunted when they were completely gone, and Evil straightened from her spot on the wall. Both of them had gone ashen and were panting profusely.

"I don't think powers can be used as much as we're using them, and on so many people." Evil said quietly. Maniac remained silent for once, and just nodded.

"We need to find Bella, and that control room."
