After class ended I left the building, now trying to avoid being at the receiving end of the glare Timothee was giving me. I didn't have any other lessons that day so I made my way back to my dorm room slowly, wanting to enjoy the cool early autumn air.

When I got to my dorm, I was surprised to find boxes in the corridor and the door wide open. I quickly went inside to find a girl who was about my age, unpacking some boxes in the spare room which wasn't occupied when I arrived. She was about 5'4 and had amazing ginger hair. She was wearing a white floral dress that went to her knees.

"Oh hi, I'm really sorry to just barge in but you weren't here for a while so I just let myself in. I think I'm going to be your new roommate!" She exclaimed.

"Ooo how fun! I've always wanted to have a girl roommate," I said with the same amount of enthusiasm as her.

"You've never had one?" The girl questioned.

" No, I had a guy roommate last year and lived with my parents the year before," I told her.

"Ohhh we're going to have so much fun! I'm Ella by the way," she said and stuck her hand out for me to shake.

"Well hello Ella, I'm Y/n," I said with a smile as I shook her hand.

We talked for hours about some of the oddest things and we seemed to have very similar minds. We agreed on almost everything; we have the same type of humor, we both have the same favourite flavour of cake (chocolate- obviously) and yet the only thing we seemed to disagree on was 'what came first... the chicken or the egg?'

We decided that we should go out for dinner together and take the opportunity for me to show Ella around the city.

While we were unpacking her stuff I noticed a glimmer of emerald green in one of the bags. When I pulled out the fabric it came out as a gorgeous emerald green dress. I pointed it out and told her how beautiful I thought it was.

"If you really think it's that nice then you should wear it to dinner," she shrugged and turned back to the box she was unpacking.

"Aw Ella, are you sure? I really don't want to be stealing your clothes on your first night here," I told her, a pleading yet grateful tone in my voice

"Do you like it?" She asked as she turned back to me with raised eyebrows

"Yes of course, it's amazing," I said, looking back down at the dress.

"Then you will wear it. I don't anyways, plus don't you love the sound of us college besties borrowing each other's clothes?" She asked.

"It does kinda sound picture perfect," I said with a small laugh.

I eventually went to try the dress on. It fit perfectly and looked gorgeous on me. It wasn't too long yet not too short and had a beautiful open back with strings tied in crosses covering my back slightly and tying off at my waist. When I walked back through to Ella's room, her eyes fell over me, taking in every inch.

"You are keeping that dress. It looks gorgeous on you," she said in absolute awe of how I looked.

"Awe, you're so sweet!" I told her before looking back in the mirror.

I knew at that moment that this friendship would last.

At least better than the one with Timothee.

When we got home after having a lovely dinner and going for a walk through the city, we got back to the dorm.

We decided to open a bottle of wine and sit down in the living room that was still half covered in boxes of both of our stuff. Just as we both settled down and turned on the tv to watch a movie, there was a knock at the door.

"I'll get it," I said and got up after putting my glass down on the coffee table.

I walked down the corridor and opened the door.

It was Timothee.

And I immediately slammed the door in his face.

"Y/n! Who was that? And why did you almost decapitate them?" Ella shouted through laughs..

"He would have deserved such a fate" I mumbled to myself. I stepped back towards her as she quickly rushed past me and opened the door. As soon as he saw the opportunity, Timothee strutted right through my door.

"Come to apologise for your stupidity?" I questioned, while walking back towards the coffee table to retrieve my glass.

"No. I'm just dropping this off," he said as he threw the shirt I lent to him earlier down at my feet. "And I can't get the ink stain out of the other one, so thanks a lot," he threw his stained shirt at my feet as well and then left while I yelled out to him.

"It was shit top anyways! I did you a favour Mr costuming class!"

I turned around to see a look of confusion on Ella's face, that was completely understandable. She turned off the tv and demanded the ENTIRE story. The rest of the evening was spent with me explaining to Ella how Timothee and I went from childhood best friends to strangers to enemies.
