"Good morning, honey."
The sweet morning sun creeps up to the front door, as the gentle heat of the furnace warms the cold milk on the kettle. The cat stretches and purrs as it wakes up from its sleep near the kitchen. Lovely scent of wood-smoke and incense fill the air in the house. The kitchen table is readied, with two sets of plates and platter for two people, with two chairs set near. The chickens are silent, and fed with the leftover bread crumbs from a week ago. The cattle and sheep are already grazing about the grassy hills in the meadow, near the wheat fields of the now working farmers. The atmosphere seems light and foggy. It's early in the morning, and the evening frost and fog haven't settled to warm yet, for the sun still lies young over the horizon. Light sits down on one end of the dining table, with droopy eyes, yawning every now and then.
"Good morning, Anna." Light greeted in a sweet but breathy tone, presumably early woken from the sleep last night. The female, Anna, would be in the kitchen, cooking eggs and preparing the warm milk to be the appetizer of the day, and the stomachs of hungry. After finishing frying the eggs over a metal pan, she'd ready two plates, set the eggs over them and put them on the dining table; one for each of them. Afterwards she took the kettle from the furnace stove. Still hot, it seems, so she uses a thick cloth to grasp the hot kettle, and poured the warm milk over two wooden cups and set them on the dining table for breakfast. "How's your sleep, Light?" Anna as she takes a seat on the table, smiling at the male, with a light tune. "A good one, honey. Thanks for asking," Light, still droopy-eyed, as he took a sip from the warm milk to energize his blood to rush. The morning endeavors are sweeter than before, with the two lovers eating together at the same table, exchanging smiles and eyes every now and then. Light looked at Anna with a light expression on his face, and a beautiful face sits before him. As he looks at her, the morning rays of the sun glistens through the tinted windows, shining her face with a light gold tint, exposing her green eyes and her blond hair. The look on her caused Light to fall in love even more, with the simple glance turning into a beautiful stare, preventing him from ever finishing his breakfast.
"Light? What's wrong? Is there something on my face?"
Light immediately went to his senses, and turned his face away from the lady, with a look of embarrassment on his face. "It's nothing, really," Light softly replied as he quickly finishes his meal. Afterwards he quickly rose up, left a sweet gesture to his love, apparently she's also finished eating, so he had to take her empty plate, too, and went to the kitchen to clean the utensils. A gentleman, of any sort, it may seem to many, and Light seemed to fit every bit of this. Anna seemed ready, for she had changed her clothes, presumably finished taking a bath. After tending to the animals and making sure all was set, she took a gold coin from her purse, and fixed her shoes.
"Oh, where are you going?" Light stumbled upon Anna, who seemed all fit for leaving. Light also had taken a bath on a separate hour, and put on a new batch of clothing. He took the dirty laundry and would go to the nearby river when he caught up with Anna along the way.
"I'm going to the market, Light." Anna, smiling at Light.
"Oh? Have we little food and necessities in stock?"
"Yes. There are only a couple of loaves of bread left, and I also thought of buying new clothes for the two of us."
"How sweet of you! Very thoughtful, honey." Light returned the smile at those words. "Alright, go on, now. I still have a lot of laundry to do."
"Very well. I'll be on my way now. Goodbye!" Anna, with a cheerful tune as she took a basket woven from fine wood fiber, and off she goes to the village center, where the market is at.
Light, for the rest of the morning, took the laundry. Dirty clothes of his family, and he washed them all with ease. By the time Anna went back home from the market to prepare lunch, Light had already finished hanging the laundry. Light sees Anna in the distance, and immediately went to help her carry her load. At the strike of noon they have finished preparing the food, and have set together by the dinner table to consume their meals. The usual days of near autumn are peaceful, and it seemed to any that at this hour of the day, taking a nap is the best way to rest after half a day's work, and so happened. The two take a nap together, lying down next to one another in the meadow, in each other's embrace. The grass sways to and fro, obeying the winds blowing. The afternoon sun shines at the sleepers, with Light's head above Anna's, in a position taking an act of protection over her. Light seem to be half-asleep, as he would gently rub the hair of Anna, deep in her afternoon slumber. He'd do so with eyes closed, minimal movement, and tender touches.
After around two hours, it was four o'clock in the afternoon, and just then the two wakes up. Light first, slowly sitting up, rubbing his eyes, and Anna after, dwelling into an embrace under Light's arms. The two would look at the low sun over the sea horizon, now hitting their faces with a golden tint. Anna looks at Light. Staring at the sun, she thought, as she would slowly open her mouth, as to say something.
"Light, how much do you love me?" she asked. The question was heard by the lad, who didn't expect such question at this hour of the day. He looked at her, gave a clear smile, and opened his mouth, as to say.
"To the moon and back, honey. Haven't I proved to you my affection, and their trueness?" Light, as he nears his forehead unto her, with their noses touching. Anna blushed, looking at Light's lips, cross-eyed, and at Light's eyes. He's a beautiful fellow, and this nearness of their lips made him more beautiful as he already was, for Anna, that is.
"Prove it," Anna, with a serious, but playful tone. Light smiled even more, chuckled, and stood. He offered a hand to Anna and raised her to stand, too. Anna pouted, but wasn't noticed by Light. She seemed disappointed.
"Well, we better get home, now. Come," said Light.
Just as Anna was getting ready to start walking with Light home, a pair of hands cupped her face, and her lips were found meeting with Light's. A shock, yes, and Anna never expected this, "that", at this hour of the day. Light didn't even give a hint of it. All his actions were of usual to Anna, but this, "that", was unexpected. "Finally, it happened!" Anna thought to herself as she slowly closes her eyes, succumbing to her emotions and the affection of "that" action. Her fists were clumped and put against Light's chests. She was smaller than Light, but tall enough to meet with him lip-to-lip, though with a little effort of her feet. They were kissing, yes, against the low sun, the crashing sea waves unto the wall of the cliff, and the sea-smelled wind. After a while they broke the moment, and their eyes opened gently, smiling at each other. Anna seemed to blush even harder, and she tried to look away from Light as she bit her lip, and Light the same. Moments after, they'd be looking at each other, with wide smiles on their face. Light closed his forehead unto hers, and after that raised his lip and kissed her forehead.
"It is beautiful, it is romantic, it is all I ask for, Light! Thank you. I love you. No, I'm in love with you!" Anna said in excitement, as she gave the lad a warm and tight embrace.
"I told you, so. I've proven it, and I will still prove it," Light, rubbing the back of the hair of Anna. "Now, let us get going, shall we? The day's about to end."
"Yes. We shall."
And so they did. They walked together towards home, holding each other's hands. The day ended unexpectedly for Anna, and so for Light. Light didn't seem to care about his ambitions for the meanwhile, now that Anna, his lover, his fiancée, is here. They bid the day goodbye, and went to sleep right after finishing dinner.
