Chapter 3: Flight of the Eagle goes back to Light's point of view in his life in the Urban. At this point, the chapter talks about Light's undertakings under the Royal Guard as he starts having an understanding of his true heritage through his environments all over France. He stumbles upon multiple other assassins and learns of Anna's affiliation.
The chapter also talks about the noblemen's learning of Light's true heritage and how they move about the lad's life and psyche as they try to turn him into a full-pledged knight of their Knight's Templar.
Details are starting to unravel through the noblemen's research and that Light will be closer to his apparent death. Light also learns a lot more of battling and understands the world of the assassins and the knights more than anyone has ever had.
However, how will Light be able to survive long enough to understand and learn of the truth?
