{A lifetime isn’t forever, so take the first chance, don’t wait for the second one! Because sometimes, there aren’t second chances! And if it turns out to be a mistake? So what! This is life! A whole bunch of mistakes! But if you never get a second chance at something you didn’t take a first chance at? That’s true failure}Even if Rachel would prefer to stay at her house and cry herself out she knew very well that she had to focus on work. The following day Crista visited her in her office in the police department.
After she explained the entire first meeting with Sylvie she ended up telling her about...
"Bella. That's all I know for now."
"So, she has an ally now. Do you think she is dangerous?"
"I don't know. Probably."
The truth was that they had no clue who Bella was or where she was coming from. For them Bella was an unknown enemy a teamed up with the monster. No one knew where Bella was coming from. They couldn't even find her surname.
Even for Sylvie, there were countless information that she didn't know. What was Bella's last name? She didn't even know if Bella was her actual name. She was never mentioning anything about her family or her childhood years.
" What are you going to do now?" Crista asked.
"I have no idea."
And she really had no idea. She didn't know where to start from and she didn't know what she was supposed to do. Technically she was lost."She said they are leaving for Los Angeles. They have some business to finish...something like that. You know how Sylvie use to speak. Oh! I almost forgot! She gave me this letter for you."
She took out of her bag a white envelope and handed it to Rachel who took it in her hands and stared at it for a while.
"You are not going to open it?"
"I don't know if I want."
She was feeling like she couldn't breathe. Why was she back? She barely managed to move on. She got to make a few steps and she was finding the monster in front of her once again.
"Do you understand that if this has Sylvie's fingerprints on, I can finish this once for all."
"Rachel, you once said you regret what you did to Sylvie. She looks like she did regret things as well. Why don't you two give a chance to each other?"
"How are you even able saying something like this?"
"Just please, read the letter."Even if she didn't want to know what Sylvie had to say, her curiosity about this little letter was huge.
She carefully opened the envelope, took out the letter starting reading it. Sylvie's handwriting wasn't the easiest to read so she was strangling to understand.
"I can't understand her handwriting. Can you read it for me?"She asked from Crista who took the piece of paper in her hands and started reading it out loud. As her best friend she was able to understand those things Sylvie was calling letters.
" Collins, it's been a long time since the last time we met. We never actually had the chance to meet each other properly. I really like your style and I need you to tell me what kind of conditioner you use. I'm as tired as you are from this story. By the way, I learnt that you have a child. I really didn't know. I'm so proud of you. I really wish them the best in life. Anyway, we can either solve this with an easy way or a hard one. The choice is yours but if you ask me I prefer the easy one. I suggest we meet just the two of us. Somewhere to talk as actual humans. Woman to woman. And who knows we might find out that we have topics to discuss. I like books as much as you. I hope you have some good recommendations. See you soon.
-Sylvie "The letter left not only Rachel and Crista but Bella as well, who had read it when Sylvie was writing it, speechless. For the first time in her life she had chosen conversation over violence. Sylvie had a reason to take care of herself and stay alive. So this time, her final goal was to bring peace.
For the first few hours Rachel didn't know if she could trust what was written in this letter. She was too scared to meet Sylvie in person. What if it was all a trap?
