It was the school Valentine's Day dance and everyone was going. Even my friends, which had boyfriends and girlfriends. I was the only one without a date, it made me sad.
I have a have a huge crush on this person and I can't ask them out because I'm too shy. They're also one of the popular kids, they don't seem interested in me at all.
I sighed, my friends begged me to go and I refused, but they managed to make me go. I put on a dress I had and some golden earrings with other jewelry I had, then my favorite pair of flat heels. I stood in front of the mirror, admiring my body with a smile. I twirled around and showed off my fit.
But then I remembered, I don't have a date for the dance. No one ever had a crush on me, I was the one with crushes and things for other people. No one liked me.
I frown, spraying some perfume on and putting lipgloss on my lips. Then I brushed my hair and styled it how I wanted it.
I grab my purse and put it on my shoulder, which carried my phone and money.
My dad was the only one home, so he drove me to the school. I hurried in the car since it was freezing and he started the car. He backed up in to the street and we left.
Once we got there, there were people entering the building, some with suits and some with dresses and some who didn't care at all. My dad parked outside the building and let me go. I said my goodbyes and left.
I saw my friends with their dates, so I didn't bother.
I went inside and the place was filled with hearts and pink and red decorations in the main lobby.
There was a trail of mini red hearts leading to the gymnasium, the door being decorated with other things.
I pushed the door open and I got greeted with fainted music and sounds of people having a great time. The slow dance didn't start yet so that was good. My friends weren't busy right now so I looked through the crowds for them. I failed miserably and sat down on the benches in the back.
I pulled out my phone from my purse and scrolled around for a few minutes, until I saw a figure standing in front of me...
