A Love Eternal (Luffy x Reader)

It has been a couple of weeks since (Y/n) joined the crew, and so much has happened. Not only has she grown closer to the crew, but she also began to be invigorated with the same desire that all of the crew felt: making sure Luffy becomes the King of the Pirates. After everything that happened in Thriller Bark, seeing just how much they would go to cherish that smile, (Y/n) felt more than ever that she deserved to be there. While (Y/n) continues to write, she wanders off on a different topic, a feeling that has only grown since she first saw that smile.

(Y/n) P.O.V
Oh Luffy, you write, everything about you, from your soft, raven fluffy hair, to the last vibration of your contagious laugh, you have truly captured my heart. While I'm not sure whether you have ever felt emotions like these or whether you even know what it means to 'love', you continue to shine brightly in my heart. You have occupied so much of me, that the day I agreed to join this ship wasn't just amazing because I could finally start fulfilling my dream, but because I got to meet someone so wonderful like you. You're so caring, so beautiful when you're childish, and so strong when you're serious. You have forever caught my heart. Even if you may never hear me say 'I love you', it's with great honor that I have fallen for you.
As you finished writing, you start to hear Brook, the newest member, perform "Bink's Sake" on his violin. You got up, changed into your (f/c) summer dress, and went outside to get some breakfast.

Third Person P.O.V
Unbeknownst to (Y/n), Robin caught a glimpse of (Y/n)'s latest diary entry. She had thought it was going to be another retelling of the adventures they have had, but she smiled quietly as she read about the feelings you have for your captain.

(Y/n) P.O.V.

You walk into the laughter-filled kitchen, when Sanji comes spinning towards you in one of his 'love tornadoes' saying with heart eyes, "(Y/n)-swan!! Here's your favorite vanilla milkshake! Just how you like it." You smiled and thanked him. Luffy sees the interaction and asks, "Hey, (Y/n), do you like it when Sanji does that?" "Well, I do find it entertaining" you respond. Luffy gets this look on his face like he's thinking about something, and then not a few seconds later, he goes "Oi!! (Y/n)-swan!! Here's some meat!" finishing off with his signature smile. You start laughing, and a small blush appears on my ears which luckily isn't noticeable. "Thank you Luffy," You smile and accept the food, with Luffy laughing as well. The crew looked a little bit shocked at first because Luffy shared some meat, but ultimately laughed along at Luffy's impression of Sanji. Sanji however, was a bit annoyed, saying "Oi Luffy! Only I can say that to (Y/n)-swan!" That makes all of us laugh even more.
After breakfast, you walk towards your favorite spot, where Nami and Robin are. You sit on the beach chair, relaxing, until Robin says with a smirk "Hey (Y/n), you like the captain don't you?" Nami hears and opens her eyes wide, and almost yells out "(Y/n)! YOU LIKE" "SHHHH!!" You say, your face all red like a tomato. "How did you know Robin?" You ask shyly. "Fufufu, I accidentally saw what you wrote in your journal. At first I thought it was probably your retelling of Thriller Bark, but then I noticed something particularly... interesting" Robin chuckles. You sigh in despair, "You aren't going to tell him are you?" Nami says with a smirk "No, but we can help you if you'd like." You start to imagine the strange things they could possibly do to make you confess and immediately say , "uhhh, maybe not. Besides, I'm not sure Luffy even knows what that means." They all laugh and Robin ends it with, "Well, if you ever need help, we're here for you. We're rooting for our cute favorite couple!". That makes you blush even harder, making you stand up and walk away while the girls continue to giggle.
You see Luffy hanging out with Tigresa, so you sneaked up on them, going behind Tigresa and acting like if it was her talking. "Oh! Hey (Y/n)" Luffy starts saying until you cut him off. "Shhh!! I'm not (Y/n), this is Tigresa" you say with a goofy voice. He turns his head to the side, as if confused. Then you pop your head out a little and tell him normally "Just go a long with it Luffy. Shishishi". He laughs, and then he says "what can I do for you Tigresa?". "Could we play a game Mr. Luffy?" You respond as Tigresa. "A game? Sure!" Luffy agrees happily. Then you pop up and start running, yelling normally "Try and catch me if you can!!" Luffy suddenly realizes what's going on and starts running after you. You make a turn into the back of the ship where no one is, until Luffy tackles you onto the floor, hovering over you, saying, "Gotcha!! Shishishi". We start to laugh, but then you slowly notice Luffy is still on top of you. You begin to blush a bit, but then you noticed Luffy was staring at you intensely.

Luffy P.O.V
Wow, look at her laugh, I think, I want her to keep doing that. I slowly realize that we have stopped laughing. I keep staring at her, wanting to get closer, and as I was about to lean in to see why her cheeks were so red, her hands cupped my cheeks, and with her thumbs, she took the corners of my lips and turned them upward, making me smile. We start laughing and she says "There's the smile that was missing on your face." After she said that, I felt a bit warm inside, and then she was starting to get back up. I was trying to back away so that she could, until she grabbed my face again, and this time she placed a soft kiss on my forehead, saying "Thank you for playing with me Luffy!". After that she giggles and walks away, leaving me feeling even more warm and confused inside. Then I pouted, thinking, I wish she could do that again. I got up trying to find Robin, thinking she might know why I'm feeling this way.
"I think you're in love with (Y/n), Luffy." Robin says smiling. I look confused, turning my head and asking her what she meant by that. "Do you ever feel like you always want to be near her? That you would feel really sad if she left suddenly? When you think of her, do you feel warm inside? Would you like to be with her forever? You want to do things that will always make her happy and smiling, and it hurts even more seeing her sad then seeing any of us sad. If you agree to all of these, that means you're in love Luffy. In love with (Y/n)." Robin responds, smiling even more. I sit there, thinking about it, and then I realize that everything that Robin said is true. Back when I met her, I didn't want her to leave. When she laughs, I want to be the one to make her laugh the most. I especially want to be the one to make her smile. I want to be the one that makes her feel this warm feeling she gives me too. I want to be closer to her, besides her as much as possible. I laugh and ask, "Then I do love her Robin! What do I do now?" Robin chuckles and answers, "You tell her you love her and ask her to be your girlfriend! That mean you and her are going to become more than friends, and you do things friends normally won't. Like kissing, holding each other, and more. It could even lead to marriage! That means you and her will be together forever!" "Marriage!! Why can't I just marry her now? I do want to be with her forever!" I ask confused. Robin laughs and responds "Marriage is a big commitment Luffy. You need to take it a bit slow so (Y/n) knows you really care about her." "But when can I marry her?" I ask. "Hmmm, maybe when you become Pirate King, so she can be your Pirate Queen" Robin replies. "Yosh! Okay, I'm going to tell her once we get to Fishmen Island!" I say, with a big smile on my face. Robin smiles and says "I'm sure she would love that."

(Y/n) P.O.V.
I CAN'T BELIEVE I KISSED HIS FOREHEAD. WHY DID I DO THAT? AHHHHH. I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF, you thought . Oh well, he may have just thought it was a friendly gesture, you continued to think. You keep thinking about what happened earlier that day as you start to go to sleep, once again happy that you were able to spend time with him even if it might not mean much to him.

Third person P.O.V.
They don't know it yet, but this is going to be one of the last times the whole crew sees each other in two years.
