A Love Eternal (Luffy x Reader)

Time Skip

Two years have passed and all the Straw Hats get ready to come back to the Sabaody Archipelago. Luffy, being the first one there, waits until the rest of his crew comes back. In the distance, he sees (Y/n), in her (f/c) dress running towards him. In an instant, he's flung to the floor with (Y/n) in his arms, crying.

Luffy P.O.V.
"I'm so glad you're okay Luffy. I don't know what I would have done if you were gone. I'm so sorry I couldn't be there for you, I wish I could take all of your pain away. I really do. I'm just so glad to see you again" (Y/n) says sobbing. I run my fingers through her hair, trying to calm her down, and then I say "I should be thanking you for going along with my selfish decision. I'm just glad that you aren't hurt and that you were able to make it back to me." She hugs me tighter and then with a pout says "I'm never letting you go!". I laugh and hold her closer, never wanting to let her go either. Then I hear someone say "You two should get a room!", at which I turn my head in confusion.

(Y/n) P.O.V
You immediately blush realizing that your on top of him after hearing what Zoro said. You get up quickly and say "IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK!". The rest of the crew shows up and laughs along with Zoro. We all catch up and get ready to start our adventure again.

Relaxing on the boat that we hadn't seen in two years, the girls and you are once again sitting on your favorite beach benches. Nami asks with a smirk , "So (Y/n), what was that all about earlier? Did you tell Luffy about your feelings?" Your face goes red again and you say, "N-no! I haven't." "I think you should, you two would make a lovely couple" Robin says with a smile. You sigh, wishing that the girls would drop the topic, until you get splashed with a water gun by none other than Luffy. "You better try and catch me this time if you want to get back at me! Shishishi!" Luffy says, running away from you. "Oh no you don't!! You won't get away with this" you yell back at him, running full speed ahead at him, hearing the girls laughing in the background.
"Man, where did he go?" You say, climbing up the ladder to the crow's nest, when an arm wraps around your waist, pulling you back down. "AHHH!" you yell, not knowing where you're going to land, only to feel hard warm muscles on your back along with the vibrations of a hearty laugh. "Shishishi, you couldn't find me, so I decided to pull you down here!" Luffy says laughing. "Oh my gosh, Luffy!! You almost gave me a heart attack!" you say, punching him gently with a blush on your cheeks. We keep laughing until sun sets. At this point, you're still in Luffy's arms, but none of you have threatened to break away from the hold, until Sanji yells saying it's time for dinner. As you try to get up, Luffy doesn't budge, leading you to ask him why he doesn't want to let go. "Sorry, I just got scared for a second that you wouldn't come back to me." Luffy says with a pout. You turn around and look him in the eyes, and grab his face, saying "Luffy, I'm never going to leave you, okay?". Flashing a smile, he tells me "Okay."

~Later that night~
You couldn't sleep because you kept thinking about how long it's been since we have all been together. You walk outside, to see Luffy sitting on the figurehead. You slowly approach him, trying to climb the lion's head carefully, until he notices you and grabs your hand, pulling you up next to him. "What brings you here this late (Y/n)?" Luffy asks. "I couldn't sleep, what about you?" you ask. He looks up at the sky at first with a sad look in his eyes, and at first he seemed hesitant to tell me, but then he says , "I can't stop thinking about everything that's happened. Everyone I couldn't protect. I'm scared I won't be able to protect everyone anymore. I'm scared that I won't be able to protect you." Blushing a little at the fact that he wants to keep you safe, you hug him and place his head on your shoulder, running your fingers through his hair , "We have all gotten a lot stronger Luffy. I'm glad you want to protect us, but please don't blame yourself for the people you lost. It's okay to be sad, but please remember that we're always going to be here for you, okay?" You feel Luffy nod, hugging you back, allowing you to continue petting his hair. You push him back a little and say, "Hey, I have a little present for you, it's something that I learned how to do on the magic tour I went on the past few years." Placing your hands on your heart, closing your eyes, you slowly begin to make a photo album. That photo album not only contained pictures of the crew and Luffy, but also moments that you and him shared, as well as pictures of memories Luffy and Ace shared. Luffy started to cry while looking through the pages. "I know I can't bring back your brother, and I'm sorry I'm not able to do more, but I can do this much. This tour allowed me to learn that I can manifest people's memories in different ways, particularly in photo albums. I thought that if I couldn't bring your brother back, I at least could give you the memories you shared with him, and with us." you tell him, hugging him again to comfort him. In a split second, Luffy put his arms around your waist and kissed you passionately on the lips, surprising you at first. After a few seconds, you began to kiss back, not believing that the man you have loved since the moment you saw his beautiful smile is kissing you back. He starts pulling you closer to him as your kisses become more desperate. Then he pulls away for some air, leaving you speechless. "(Y/n), this is more than I could ever ask for. I wanted to tell you this two years ago, but I couldn't then. I wanted to tell you that I love you. That I have missed seeing your smile, hearing your laugh, feeling your touch everyday for the past two years. I want you to be my Pirate Queen, the person I can stay with forever. Will you be my girlfriend?" He says, looking into your eyes and holding your hands. You start to cry at his sweet words, in which you wrap your arms around his neck and start to kiss him again. He returns the gesture, and after a while, you let go and tell him "Of course I will! I never thought I would hear you say that!".

Third person P.O.V
The new couple laughs with each other, hearts filled with new hope as they start a new adventure together. They stare at each other, with their final thought of the night being, I'm so lucky I get to be with them.
