First Snow - A Hwang Hyunjin oneshot

"Hyunie~ It's almost winter. Will you be home from your business trip before the first snow?"

"I'm sorry babe but seeing how things are here in Australia, it may be hard for me to make it home to you before winter starts..." a sigh was heard from the other side. "As much as I wanna see the first snow with you, I'm afraid I can't this year. I'm sorry."

You heard Hyunjin's colleague calling him from a distance. "Sorry Y/N but I gotta go now. I have an important meeting to attend to. Love you bye!" he hung up before you could say anything else. You let your hand drop to the space next to you, letting out a sigh as you looked out the window, squinting your eyes a little as the streetlamp blinded you slightly.

Night time approached quickly as you were on your bed alone. Again. Hyunjin was once again on a business trip and you missed him... a lot. You closed your eyes, letting the tiredness and sadness swallow you in a deep slumber.

Time passed quickly as you were alone. Hyunjin had sent you a text a few days ago that he would be offline for the next few days as he had to work on an important project. You replied to him as usual, but a small part of you was sad. Nono that is an understatement. You had cried that night. You have not seen him for a month and you were starting to think about whether he was cheating on you or if he was falling out of love.

You wiped the teardrops that had formed on your eyes and sniffed the runny nose away. You felt something on your leg as you looked up to see Kkami licking your leg. "Kkami, come here." Kkami walked over to you and snuggled close. The weather was getting colder even though there was no sign of snow yet. "I bet you miss him too, Kkami... It's been a month since he flew off and 5 days since his last text." Kkami licked your face in an attempt to comfort you.

"You know what Kkami? Let's go for a walk tomorrow. I know it's cold but us two being stuck in this house won't do us good. Let's have dinner and cuddle with some movies before going to sleep ok?" Kkami barked and followed you to the kitchen, excited for dinner.

"Good morning Kkami! Are you ready for that walk we talked about last night?" Kkami circled around you and jumped up, clearly excited to leave the house after a while. You gave him a little coat and attached his leash, grabbing some essentials and walking out the house with an excited Kkami, remembering to lock the door behind you.

Kkami and you both strolled down the path, walking over to the dog park that you usually went to. Reaching the dog park, you saw that there were a few similar sized dogs around with their owners. You unleashed Kkami as he ran off to play with the other dogs, coming back once in a while to check up on you.

You sat down at a nearby bench after a while, your body getting sore from the amount of stuff you were carrying. You massaged your body a little as Kkami ran up to you, feeling a little tired from his adventures in the small area. "Kkami, are you tired already? Do you wanna go home now?"

Kkami barked as he jumped up to your lap, letting you leash him again before he led you both back onto the path home.

You took out your phone from your pocket after hearing a ding. It was a message notification from your friend group. They had sent in pictures of them spending time with their significant others. It made you remember that you were spending time with no one but Kkami. "Not even the owner is home..."

Just then, Kkami barked and ran forward. You lost your grip on his leash as you shouted for him. "Kkami where are you-"

Kkami jumped up onto a man. That man laughed out loud as the dog licked his face. "Kkami HAHA I love you too~" You stopped in your tracks as the familiar laugh rang in your ears. You froze.

Hyunjin put Kkami down, holding on to his leash tightly as he looked up at you. "I'm home babe." He smiled widely, spreading his arms open. You ran up to him with tears in your eyes. The moment you made contact with him, your arms wrapped around his neck as his arms wrapped around your waist, holding you close and letting you bury yourself into his neck, sobbing out everything you had kept in for the past month or so.

As your sobs grow softer, you notice white snow particles falling slowly from the sky. You looked up at Hyunjin, who still held you close in a tight embrace. He chuckled and wiped the tears off your cheeks, leaving a peck on your nose before connecting your lips. You closed your eyes, letting yourself melt into the kiss.

You both parted after a while for air. "I guess we did witness the first snow of the year together again, my love..." You both smiled as you embraced each other again, never wanting to let go again...
