Shawn's POV (Aye)
I was playing the guitar and singing in the lodge, my normal gig on Wednesdays. When I was starting to get to the end, people started leaving which was okay with me, I get paid either way. I was laughing with my few friends that stayed behind, John and Max, while slowly beginning to stop playing and singing. Still strumming, I threw my head back in laughter, and when I tilted it back up, I looked around the room and I saw the girl I was talking to yesterday standing about 30 feet away, just staring at me. Her eyes were hazel, I could tell even with her all the way over there.
I stood up and smiled at her and she began walking towards me looking like she was about to cry, happy tears though. I bent over and put my guitar in its case, and turned around and she tackled me into a hug and squeezed me so tight saying, "Shawn I missed you so much," I was really confused.
"How do you know my name? I never told you. What's yours, too? And we just saw each other yesterday," I said laughing. She looked down and began crying, she was tall, but still much shorter than me. I could hear her sobbing and my heart broke. I brought her into a hug and tilted her chin up and her eyes were puffy.
"You don't remember me?" She asked her voice raspy. I felt bad and shook my head no, initiating an apology.
"Your name's Shawn. My name is Megan and we were best friends 7 years ago," she began weeping again. "I got to go," she said releasing from the hug and walking away while she fought her wrist out of my tight grip. It came back to me. That's my best friend.
"MEGAN WAIT!" I yelled chasing after her, she was throwing away her cup, and I saw her trying to speed walk away from me. "STOP MEGAN I WANT TO TALK TO YOU!" She got outside before me, and once I reached the doors I looked around throughout the crowds of people. I saw her leaned up against the brick wall, hugging her knees, probably getting her ass soaked from the snow.
Megan's POV
I can't believe Shawn didn't remember me. We were best friends, and now apparently he's some player... a player who is really good at playing the guitar, and singing, is attractive, snowboards, and tall. ugh.
I was crying in my knees when I heard boots walking towards me, the ice crunching under it. The person sat down next to me. I looked up and saw Shawn. "What the hell do you want?"
"I want to talk."
"About what?"
"Us. I've missed you Megan." That made my heart melt.
"I've missed you, too Shawn."
"Why don't I take you back to my house and you can say hi to my parents and stay for dinner?"
"Um sure." I said smiling. He stood up, and reached a hand down, which I gladly took, pulling me up.
*At Shawn's House*
"Okay Megan, I don't know if you remember, but they're very awkward people," he said laughing kind of blushing.
"Don't worry Shawn, can we go in yet?" We had been standing on his porch shivering because he was 'preparing' me for re-meeting his parents.
He opened the door for me and I walked in, seeing his parents sitting on the couch. They looked up and immediately stood up. "Is this a new girlfriend Shawnie?" his mom asked.
"Oh, no ma'am. We are just friends. Do you remember me actually? It's me Megan? From Georgia?"
"Oh Megan, darling. you've grown up to be such a beautiful young lady. we have missed you a lot here in the Mendes family. especially little Shawnie here," his mom said pinching Shawn's cheek.
"Mom stop," Shawn groaned. We ate dinner and then Shawn's father spoke.
"Well you kids go have fun, but don't be out too late, okay?"
"Yessir," I replied before Shawn tugged on my wrist dragging me out of the door, already a bright red, obviously embarrassed.
We walked around for a while just admiring the scenery. It's Christmas time so the village was lit up and had a giant tree decorated with sparkly tinsel and huge ornaments the size of my head. We just stood there with his arm slouching on my shoulder, in a friendly way, that's all we were; friends.
"So how have you been?" Shawn asked before coughing and looking down at me.
"I've been okay, had to make some new friends since you left me," I said sassily.
"Megan it wasn't my fault I-,"
"Shawn I'm just joking. I know it wasn't your fault. We were kids. anyways, I see you've continued your career in music?" I asked trying to change the subject.
"Oh yeah. Singing and playing the guitar have become my whole life now. and what about you? You were in kids choir, too." he said.
"I mean I'm in chorus at school, and I really enjoy singing, it's just that I'm not very good and I'm busy with other things..." I said getting quieter.
"Like what?" He asked interested, probably expecting me to say a hobby or something of that nature. My hands started to sweat, and not because of my gloves. I started to shake, and not because of the cold.
Not again.
"Oh would you look at the time," I said pointing to the watch that wasn't on my wrist, "I gotta go," I said nervously laughing, keeping the tears in.
"Um okay... Hey how about I pick you up at 8:30 tomorrow morning for breakfast?"
I couldn't speak, the lump in my throat getting bigger and bigger. i signaled the "okay" sign with my hand and continued running away, back to the cabin, where I wouldn't, where I couldn't, make myself look like a freak in front of my best friend.
(A/N) guys I'm so sorry about not updating. I lost interest, but now I'm back, okay? I have some great ideas so make sure to keep this in your library!
