Y/N POV

A film of clammy sweat clings to my body as I shoot upright in bed, startled awake by a nightmare. A low groan beside me catches my attention, glancing down to see Wanda stirring in her sleep and I freeze, holding my breath until she falls still.

Taking in my darkened surroundings I discover I'm still in Wanda's room, illuminated only by a sliver of the glowing moon peeing through a crack in the curtains and I curse silently as I realise I had napped a bit too hard.

I squint against the bright screen of my phone, my annoyance deepening when I see it's a little past two in the morning.

My stomach lets out a grumble, reminding me I had missed dinner as I do the math in my head, concluding there wasn't a chance in hell I'd be able to get back to sleep with over ten hours already under my bed.

Looking back at the dreaming Sokovian below me, I find myself smiling like an idiot whilst I reach out to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear and my hand gravitates to her cheek, delicately running my thumb over her cheekbone. Wanda hums softly, her eyes fluttering gently and I hurry to pull away, not wanting to wake her.

Another growl rumbles from my stomach and I teleport out from under the sheets over to Wanda's closet, peering behind me to ensure I hadn't disturbed the bed.

I yank a fresh hoodie from a hanger, pulling it over my head and summoning my phone with a flick of my wrist, instantly teleporting to the kitchen as it lands in my hand.

"She hath risen!"

I jump at the voice, spinning around to find the source and spying Natasha sat in darkness at the table, her face lit up by the screen on her phone.

"Why are you sitting in the dark, you weirdo?"

I wave my hand lazily towards the switch and the lights flicker on as I shuffle over to the fridge, brushing the remains on sleep from the corners of my eyes while I inspect the contents thoroughly.

"Wanda saved you some risotto, it's the Tupperware with the red lid. She had to threaten the boys to stop them from eating it."

I spot the container in question, grabbing it excitedly and removing the lid ready for the microwave.

"Is it the mushroom one she does?"

Nat nods, turning her attention back to her phone while I wait for the timer to go off, hissing when I grab it too quickly and burn my fingers on the scalding glass.

"Идиот (idiot)," She mutters, rolling her eyes.

"Oi, I know what that means. Been called it enough times," I mumble the last bit under my breath, hoping she won't catch it but a curt laugh tells me otherwise.

Natasha's phone pings loudly and she sighs, dropping her head into her hands with a slow shake.

"Y/n, I am begging you. Talk to your fucking friend. I love her but I just don't have the capacity to entertain her, I truly don't know how you do it."

"And you thought I was demanding." I chuckle, spooning a mouthful of rice into my mouth as the guilt begins to take over. "I, uh, I was planning to do it today actually."

"Well, she's awake now for some god forbidden reason. Go talk to her."

"I thought I wasn't allowed to leave?" I raise my eyebrow at her and she sighs.

"I'll make an exception. Plus I want her to come to the party on Saturday."

"Oh, so you're just using me to steal my friends now?"
