Dr Mccarthy with help from another professional had finally come up with a fresh sock to use under the prosthetic on winters tail. Its similar to what they use on humans but softer so that it shouldnt cause damage. You slide it onto her stump and then place the prosthetic over that.

After showing them the sock Dr Mccarthy then showed them the final design he had for the tail prosthetic, at the moment it was just made up of old parts of a buick but there would be a finalised proper made one at another point.

Each of them got in the water with winter up on the platform sawyer spoke and whistled to her as they gently began to slide the sock and then prosthetic onto her. Sawyer and phoebe swapped places as phoebe began to do some hand signals to winter to get her tail moving up and down as its meant to, winter automatically tried moving her tail side to side as thats how shes been swimming but with a quick no and hand gestures again she began to move it slowly up and down once again...

She suddenly began thrashing her tail moving side to side yet again and she swam off of the platform away from everyone with a sort of matter of ergancy. They couldnt do anything winter was to freaked and was thrashing to much for anyone to get a handle on her without getting hurt! She began to hit the new tail vigorously against the wall of the new pool untill it finally broke and fell off of her, that was when she finally calmed down... Winter swam back over to them holding up a piece of the tail ontop of her nose as if to hand it back as a sorry.

They knew they couldnt just give up they had to continue trying surely at some point it will work and seem natural to winter, only time could tell, they just had to wait and see.
