The Christmas eve snow gently tickles my face as I stroll down the street. I just got off work and decided to take a walk down the shops nearby to see if I could get gifts for people. I've already gotten gifts for Chaeng, Dubu, Eomma and Appa, but there was still one more person that I have yet to buy a gift for.
Nayeon. My confusing CEO who has stolen my heart. (Never let it go oh no)
"If I was a cold, emotionless, adorable and confusing CEO...what would I buy?" I mutter as I shove my hands into my pockets. Think Sang-woo, think! I stop in my tracks right outside a jewellery shop. On the display was the perfect gift for Nayeon.
A bunny necklace.
"God exists," I muse as I take off my hood and enter the shop.
"Hwanyeonghada, how may I be of service to you today?" the service lady greets me as I enter the shop.
"Annyeonghaseyo. I'm interested in buying that necklace on the display."
"Oh, our new diamond necklace? Sure thing!" she smiles as she reaches down and produces a box.
It's diamond? Good lord.
"How much is it?"
"32,000,000 won sir."
Jesus christ...that's a lot...
But...it's for Nayeon...I know she'll be happy when she gets this...
It's worth it...right?
"A-Ah...okay then," I say as I pull out my credit card. Much like Dahyun, I'm never gonna financially recover from this. No days off for this guy in the new year...
"Excellent," the worker says as she accepts my card. She places it into the reader and begins typing.
"May I ask sir...are you buying this for someone special?"
I smile.
"Yea...someone really special..."
The worker smiles as she continues typing.
"Ah...I understand. Girlfriend?"
"I wish."
She laughs.
"I remember when I tried to win my girlfriend over...wasn't too successful, but somehow she still fell for me. We're together now so that's all that matters."
"That's sweet...what does your girlfriend work as?"
"She's a detective."
"That's gotta be an interesting love story..."
"Oh it is all right...she's the love of my life," she smiles with a dreamy look in her eyes.
"She's lucky to have someone like you."
"And I'm lucky to have her..." she smiles as she finishes typing. Just then, a door behind her opens and a man walks out.
"Ah! Welcome sir! Can I help you with anything?"
I smile and wave it off.
"All good. She's attending to me already," I smile as I point at the girl in front of me.
"Very well, I'll leave you to it," he says as he walks over to one of the display cases to take his place. The worker in front of me casts a glance towards him before clearing her throat and leaning forward.
"Sir, what I'm about to do can land us both in big trouble, so I suggest you play along," she whispers.
"W-Wha?" I stammer.
