SIX YEARS LATER
It had been six years since Claire had 'died.' Ever since then the Avengers had realized they had a "Guardian Angel" watching over them. Anytime anyone was about to get hurt, a hooded figure swooped in and used powers to save them.
They had started trying to figure out who this person was and why, but whenever they got close to revealing who it was they would disappear for a few days. They had seen their Angel watching them a few times, laying out by the woods against a tree, keeping watch over the compound. They had even tried to go out and talk to them but they would disappear before they could get close enough.
Vision had returned, causing a lot of drama. He came back to apologize to Wanda and try to win her back, which hadn't happened until they spent one day together. When they came back they were both smiling and happy. That was four years after Claire had died and everyone was happy to see Wanda moving on even if it was with vision.
They were happy together again, and as much as it hurt Claire when she watched over them, she was glad one of them were happy and Wanda was the one who deserved it.
Over the six years Claire had grew in her powers. She learnt how to use each one's unique ability and figured out pretty quickly how to hide the power trace so that her enemies and the avengers wouldn't figure out she was alive.
She liked to sit against the tree they had 'buried' her under and watch the compound. She left each time they tried to come out and talk to her however, because she couldn't let them figure out that it was her and not somebody else. That would ruin everything she's been working for as much pain as it caused her to stay away.
Today however, something was off, when they had gotten back from their mission there was tension in the air as they quickly wheeled someone into the compound. As she watched she slipped into the compound, following them quietly through the halls and to medbay where she finally saw that it was Clint laying on the table. But when she slid in after them, hiding within the shadows, the medbay doors closed and locked behind her, locking her in the room with the team.
"We know you're here Angel." Tony states, looking around the room as well as the others, eyes completely missing where she stood in the shadows. "We just want to know who you are, how you got your powers and why you keep saving us. We're thankful but why?" He states and Claire smiles sadly from where she was hidden.
She had missed them. "You're sure that they're here tony?" Nats voice sounds out and Claire smiles, looking over at her sister, missing her voice. She had been on her own for six years and hadn't talked once with another person. She had missed social contact but she knew she couldn't talk with any of them or they would recognize her voice.
"I'm sure." Tony states and they all start moving around the room. Wanda got to close for comfort so Claire moved, accidentally bumping into something and making her identity known. Now that they knew where she was she dropped the shadows and bolted for the lab windows, ducking under arms before pushing her powers towards the window so that it would shatter.
When they did she took the final leap and jumped out of the window, rolling as she hit the ground, her hood coming down. She glanced back quickly before pulling her hood back up and running towards the woods.
"No... it can't be..." Yelena says. They had all seen her face.
"She's alive..." Melina breathes out. Everyone looks towards Wanda who was staring at where she had disappeared back into the woods, tears rolling down her face. "Wanda?" Vision questions, taking his girlfriends hand in his and she faces him, tears still rolling down her face. "Was that her? Was that Claire?" Wanda just nods and Steve comes over, letting Wanda turn to him.
