SCARLETT
"Are we nearly there yet?" Scarlett asked Bobby for the hundredth time, as he sang along to the radio.
"Nearly, babe," he said. "I'm so excited. 3 whole days off work and time with my favourite people, big and small!"
"I can't wait to see the triplets," Scarlett said, "I hope they love their presents. You did remember to bring all the bits to do the gingerbread houses with them, didn't you?"
"I packed everything we'll need," Bobby said. "I think I've made about 100 in the last week alone, but I'm so looking forward to doing these ones!"
"I'm looking forward to eating it," Scarlett giggled. "You've worked so hard these last few weeks, I'm so glad we've got a few days off together. I hope last night didn't wear you out too much!"
"It was the perfect end to a busy week," Bobby grinned at her. "I slept like a log after."
"Me too. It's going to be so weird being filmed again today, isn't it?" Scarlett said. "Did Tai ever say who else was coming?"
"He was still firming things up with the production company last time we talked about it," Bobby replied. "His Dad and Nikau were landing last night though I think," Bobby said, glancing at Scarlett to see her reaction.
"Awesome," she said. "It'll be so good to see them." The snow that had started gently last night was now falling a little heavier. "I'm glad we won't be driving in this much longer, I think it's going to get really heavy later. We can just put our Christmas PJ's on tonight and snuggle by the fire instead of having to drive back, bliss!" Scarlett said.
"Definitely. Do you think everyone else will be as cool as us in matching pyjamas?" Bobby laughed.
"No one is as cool as us babe!" Scarlett said. Bobby suddenly turned up the radio to full blast as the song changed.
"It's your song!" he shouted over the music, as Scarlett's version of Walking in the Air that she'd recorded with Sheku Kannen-Mason for Christmas played.
"I can't believe you've actually got a number 1 single, it's crazy!" he shouted, as Scarlett lowered the volume.
"Me neither! I mean, it's just the classical chart so it's not the same as an actual Christmas number one..." she replied, smiling at him shyly.
"Don't be daft lass, it's a bloody Christmas number one! I'm so excited for you going to New York in the new year for the tour, but I'm really going to miss you," Bobby pouted.
"It's only for a month," she replied, "And I'm planning to smuggle you in my suitcase anyway," she giggled. "I'm going to miss you too, though"
"When you get back, how do you feel about making some wedding plans?" he said, tentatively.
"I'd love that," she smiled at him, reaching across to hold his hand and squeezing it tightly. "You know I love you so much, Bobby."
"I love you too," he replied, grinning as much as he did the first time she said it to him. As they neared Manchester the snow started falling fast and Bobby had to peer through the wipers working at full speed. They were both very relieved to finally pull up at the Kahu's gate.
