5: meeting

It's been over a week since the female titan attack and the death of your best friends, life is clearly not going in your favour. But yet again, when has life gone in your favour?

After your daily training, you get called in a meeting with Erwin and all the other captains. You are yet to be captain, but you are invited to the meetings to be familiar with Captain duties. Shadowing Levi the past week has been tricky, all he does is paperwork since...He has no squad anymore?

You shower and get dressed in your usual uniform, and walk to Erwin's meeting office. You heard this meeting is going to be big and will discuss the upcoming plans after this last mission's failures.

"I'm glad you all could make it, we will just be waiting for the garrison and military to arrive" Erwin explains and it surprises you, why are the garrison and military police attending our meeting? Admittedly, you hated the military police, for personal and objective reasons.

"Good morning survey corps" the head of the military police, you couldn't remember his name, greets everyone. By his tone, he seems sarcastic which annoys you.

To further boil your blood, you notice a certain someone walk up from behind him. You haven't seen this person in over 5 years and you're thankful for that. Your eyes widen when you truly take in who it is.

"Alice Hale, a pleasure to finally meet you" Erwin greets her, and you try to calm down. She's approaching you which means you shake hands with her, the thought alone leaves you nauseous.

"Y/n long time no see," she says as you both shake hands, Levi overhears as he is sitting beside you and is surprised that this woman is calling you by your first name. Levi wonders how you know someone in the military police...and he also noticed how you both have the same last name.

You shake hands with everyone and everyone including the garrison and military police takes a seat around the giant table. Although you are frustrated, you can't help but feel a bit of pride to even be at this table. You want to rub it in Alice's face that you made it here despite all she said.

"Hm Survey Corps care to explain this last mission?" the guy whose name you don't remember starts talking, starts talking in a rude tone. As usual, the military police feel entitled to comment on everything.

"It was very informative, we came across a titan we have never seen before" Erwin explains and passes the report on the female titan to the guy. It always amazes you how Erwin can always keep his cool and stay professional.

"Oh so this piece of paper was worth the lives of hundreds of men" he chuckles and flips through the pages. Alice chuckles along with him and shakes her head. You can feel your ears heat up in anger, who do they think they are to make a mockery out the lives of others!?

Erwin doesn't respond, and you can feel Levi get visibly angry. There has been an unspoken hatred between the Scouts regime and Military police, but even this is crossing the line.

"If you are here to make a mockery out of this, then save it" Levi reprimands them. There's no denying that he's right, they're being very disrespectful.

"Pardon me, Levi, I just cannot fathom the extents you Scouts will go for" the man chuckles, and the tension increases.

"We do not have to agree. We are simply showcasing our findings" Erwin responds as diplomatic as always.

"What can we do with this information? Go defeat that female titan ourselves" Alice says in a condensing tone. You roll your eyes, who does she think she is?

"We may not be able to do that, but it's valuable information. I believe that there might be a traitor among us" Erwin reveals, and you are equally as surprised as everyone else.
