Chapter Three: Another Play

Gwen POV

During the dinner, we all eat the delicious food that May made and share our craziest story as a Spider-Man/Woman. We all somehow get along with one another, that's maybe because we truly understand what it feels like being the Spider, it just natural for us to get along. During the meal, my mind can't help to wonder on the thought of why I suddenly felt an attraction to (Y/n). It doesn't make any sense. I try to think about it a little harder, maybe there is something about him that I don't quite understand that's why I feel an interest in him, or maybe it's because this whole dimensional thing screwing with my atom and how I feel. I can't really figure it out. But I know I shouldn't really think about that much. After all, there is more at stake here than just my silly feeling.

After dinner, Peni goes back to the underground garage where she continues her work making the goober while the others decide that hitting the bed was the best decision. We need some rest before the big after all.

The guys were hitting the couch to crash while May give me a bedroom in the room upstairs. I didn't feel too good about it, since I'm the only one that has been given a room but May insisted and everyone seemed okay about it so I chose to accept the gesture. The room is filled with some geek stuff, I can only guess that this used to be Peter's room. I lay on the bed trying to get some sleep when suddenly I feel a cold wind starting to hit my body. That's when I noticed that there is a window with a view of the street that was open. I can't help but sigh before I get up from the bed and move to close it. I can just use my web shooter, but I don't want to get this room dirty with it, I'm only a guest after all. When I was about to close it down. I can see (Y/n) standing outside the house. It looks like he was talking with someone, but who? I try to listen to his conversation a little bit.

"What!? I'm not happy." There was a pause before he continues to talk again. "Fine! Yes, I'm happy. It's Gwen after all..."

I can't help but get curious as to who he was talking to, and plus he mentions me again. I look around and try to spot someone but none. I try to use my spider-sense to maybe detect another present but all I got was just him. Wait!? Did maybe he's talking to himself? I can't help but get more curious and I decide to eavesdrop a little bit more.

"I know she's not my Gwen, but... she looks the same. I mean the hair looks a little bit different, and she's a few years younger but the look in her eyes, her voice, everything else about her it just... it's Gwen..."

Again, he mentions my name. Is he okay? Did maybe meeting me make him remember all the bad stuff that happened, and he tries to calm himself down by talking to it out with... no one?

"Can't you just shut up for a moment, okay!? I-I... I just don't know..." He continues talking to himself.

I feel that I must do something, it's bad enough that he's trying to talk but he got no one to talk to. Maybe I should accompany him for a few minutes, yeah... maybe that can help him feel better. I know I always said to myself that I don't do friends anymore, but maybe... just maybe... one friend is okay, right?

So I snuck out of the window and jump out before landing right in front of him.

"Trouble sleeping?"

"AAA-!" he was about to scream but I immediately put a hand on his mouth.

"Sheesh! Everyone is trying to take some rest. Don't wake them up."

Still, with my hand on his mouth, he nods at me, I slowly remove my hand from him.

He let out a sigh before he looks at me, "Gwen, why are you here? You startled me for God's sake."

"I saw you talking to yourself. Are you okay?"

"W-wait, you saw that!?"

I nod at him and suddenly he's face turns red. I can only guess that he was embarrassed that I had to see him talking to himself.
