𝑷acking boxes, adding memories into boxes is what Effy thought of it as. She didn't want to move, she had lived in this house for almost half of her life. Her used to be room was now echoey, of how bare and empty it is now.
Although she understands it's hard for her mom to afford living in a house with just her income, along with the essential things like groceries and etc. And if they move their practically moving into a free house. With only her mom and herself it would be much easier for them.
"Effy!" Her mother, Isabella called out pulling her out of her thoughts. She went down the staircase into her now used to be living room. Her mom a 33 year old women, with brunette hair, and a young sort of firm look, the young look wasn't fake considering she did have her when she was 18. Her rosy looking skin seemed like a pearl, the hint of glow and softness. And what made her and Effy similar, their colored deep blue pale drowsy eyes.
"That's the last of it" her mother said carrying a box full of their things. "Okay I'll put these boxes in the car." Effy said carrying two sharpie labeled boxes, one messily written said 'records, posters & vinyls' and the other said 'books & clothes'. she walked outside into the porch which would soon belong to someone else.
She walked towards the station wagon and placed the two boxes down in the open trunk, along with another that her mom put labeled 'pots & silverware'. The rest of boxes with the rest of their clothes and furniture being in the moving truck.
Then Effy made her way to her friends, that were there to say goodbye to her, Violet her only 'human friend'. "Why do you have to leave me?" Violet said pulling Effy towards her and hugging her by the neck, burying her head into the crook of Effy's neck to try to cover up the tears that flooding in her eyes. "I don't want to" she responded, wiping a couple tears of mascara flowing on her own cheek. The girls embracing each other one last time. Then, her other friends, 10 stray cats next to them. Effy said goodbye each of them, petting them and rubbing some of their belly's if allowed. "Promise you'll call me and tell me everything?" Violet said sadly dabbing her eyes. "I promise." Effy said hugging her friend one last time. Just then Effy got into the car. She sat in the passenger seat holding Violets hand through the open window, giving a reassuring squeeze to Violets hand and a sad smile. Both hands slowly slipping apart from each other's as the car drove away.
Would she ever get to see her friend again? Would they ever reunite? Or speak to each other again? were the thoughts steaming inside Effy's mind.

The car left the sorrowful house, along with a 14 year old girl left with tears in her eyes, with 10 cats beside her. Forced to leave her friend of ten years behind. Turning around one last time to see the girl crying standing on the side of the road, next to their now old mailbox. She turned her head back forcing herself to look away, wiping tears that were placed in her cheek. As they turned the street with a moving truck behind them. She put her headphones on and tried drowning out her feelings away by listening to music. She always loved music. Right now she hoped that music would help her feel better, like it always did.
Wiping a couple more mascara filled tears away. Pulling out a dark green cover notepad with stickers and drawings that surrounded the cover of it. She pulled it out from her messenger bag that she carried with her. Just full with things like her phone, headphones, earbuds, a camera, charger, gum and a Littel Women book by Louisa May Alcott in case she got bored. Although she most likely wouldn't read it right now, not wanting to get too dizzy from staring down to much.
Drawing helped her a lot. Especially with her anxiety, so whenever she felt it getting bad again she resorted to a pencil and her notepad than she carried with her at all times, just in case. She never drew anything in specific, sometimes it was people, other times it was eyes, animals, cigarettes, trees, forest, stars or just random trippy doodles. Whatever she felt at the moment, she'd try her best to captivate the feeling, emotion or thought. So when she felt it again, she could go back and use it for some sort of comfort.
