༄ 3rd person POV
She walked out of the house she just seconds ago saw someone die.
Wasn't a first but, fuck.
It's a lot to unpack, especially for someone as young as her.
She remembered things she tired so hard to forget about, she fought so much so try and bury all those memories down. All those years of therapy, all the trauma, she tried so fucking hard so suppress the thoughts and memories down.
But they never went away.
They only haunted her, destroying her.
They drove her mad at times. But thankfully never to the edge, though. Although she's been near the corner towards it. And It was never fun. The manic episodes, especially weren't fun. It all tormented her, never leaving her mind alone. Since she could remember there was never a quite or peaceful moment in her mind.
The lingering feeling of sadness also never went away. It stayed, only worsening her every existence. Leaving her to feel nothing but dumbness and sadness, but thankfully there were also rare moments of happiness. Which she cherished with all her heart.
Walking the path of pavement sidewalk towards her house, or at least the path she though it was towards her house. She picked at her cracked nail polish fidgeting with her thump, with so many thoughts racing in her mind all at once. Overwhelming her more and more.
She hadn't realized she was crying till she felt a trickle of water running down her cheek. So she stoped and stood near to a thin tree with hardly any leaves, and she dapped her tears away with her fingers looked up and blinking repetitively while pinching the inner corners of her eye to try and reduce puffiness.
"Fuck." She whispered to herself while cleaning her tears, before continuing walking.
She soon reached her house, seeing the porch lights on signaling her mom was still awake. "Fucking shit man." She cursed under her breath walking up to the porch bracing herself. After then twisting the doorknob open walking inside the house after closing the door behind her while still cursing herself under her breath.
She walked into the living room finding her mother sitting on the couch wearing stripped pajamas along with a robe and holding up a coffee mug in her right hand.
"What the fuck! Where have you been Elizabeth?" She said standing up from the couch placing her coffee down and pulling her daughter into a tight hug.
Though she quickly pulled away and gave her a stern look and as she was about to speak Effy interrupted her " Ma, I'm sorry, me and my friend forgot about the time, and my phone died so didn't have any way to call your or anything." Effy said rambling on before being interrupted again. "Okay, okay... just go to bed, it's late, we'll talk about your punishment tomorrow.
Effy nodded as she walked upstairs "I love you, goodnight." Her mother called out. "Goodnight mom." Effy said turning around. "Don't ever do that again Effy." Her mother Coraline said "Got it." She responded tiredly.
She walked inside her bedroom and walked straightly to her bathroom that connected to her room. She turned on the water, undressed herself then got in.
She washed herself up rethinking everything that had happened, poor Jake. He should've gone through that, none of them should've had. Having a dead dad is hard, and especially witnessing their death is definitely harder.
She walked out of shower changing into pajamas that were laying from the previous night and grabbing socks and underwear from her drawers inside her bathroom.
Suddenly like an overwhelming wave of nausea it hit her, all the memories of her sister and fathers death filled her mind again. She lost balance and held onto the edge of the sink, and without realizing it the stinging sensation built up in her eyes and tears started coming down uncontrollably. Tears turned into sobs.
"Why them, why them?" She whispered sobbing into her hand while leaning onto a wall sliding down falling to the floor.
She soon got up and composed herself cleaning up her eyes and walked into her room closing the door behind her.
As she walked closer a shadowed became clearer, once she got closer she saw a familiar red head doll sitting on her bed.
"Jake?" She asked looking around as she picked the doll up.
The doll blinked a couple times staring up at her, she quickly he threw it to the floor creeped out.
It lifted itself up "Hi, I'm Chucky, and I'm your friend till the end. Hidey-fucking-ho."
"What the fuck?!" She said
"Hello, Elizabeth."
