||3rd Person POV||

They Came In The Night

{Friday, August 11, 2006/9:16pm, The Canterlot Royale, The Throne Room}

Princess Celestia sadly looked at the empty, silver throne to her right.

"Oh, Luna," Celestia said to the throne softly, tears in her eyes, "Why did you go astray?"

Celestia looked up at the moon. The moon shined brightly, casting its gorgeous, white glow on the city below. The citizens of Canterlot were oblivious to Celestia's tears, moving around the city as they did every day without a care in the world. As Celestia stared at the moon, she saw a shape on its surface; the silhouette of her younger sister, Princess Luna, who had to be banished to the moon, almost 1,000 years prior, for crimes that were unexpected. Celestia stopped looking at the moon and got up from her solid gold throne. In a few years, Luna will return to reek havoc, Celestia thought sadly, It is prophecy. I must prepare my kingdom for the inevitable attack. I must get the ball rolling on the other half of said prophecy. Celestia smiled as she remembered the prophecy's second half.

"On the thousandth anniversary of her banishment, Nightmare Moon, the wicked witch of the night, will return to reek havoc on Equestria, aided by the alignment of the stars," Celestia said aloud, reciting the prophecy of her sister's return, "But don't fret, for, with the Elements of Harmony in human form, she will be reformed. Reformed by the Bearers of Harmony."

Celestia walked down the steps a few feet in front of her throne and walked over to a pair of solid gold doors, each with half of her sun Witch Mark, the mark representing her special magical talent, engraved on them. She pulled her long, pure-white, unicorn horn-like wand from her witch robe's inside left pocket and, once her yellow Magic Aura engulfed its tip, she placed it in the hole in the wall, which was to the left of the doors (or to her right). A blue aura traced the halves of the sun shape on each door and the doors opened slowly. Once the doors opened, Celestia walked inside and returned with a small, purple, treasure chest-like, bejeweled box. She pulled her wand from the hole in the wall, causing the doors to shut immediately, but silently. She flicked her wand and her yellow aura surrounded the box. The box's jewels lit up as the lid opened slowly, revealing six gems neatly arranged on a satin, magenta cushion inside. Her yellow aura disappeared and she placed her wand back inside her robe's inside left pocket. The gems, an amethyst, a ruby, a blue topaz gem, an orange gem, a pink diamond gem, and a pink sapphire gem shaped like a six-point star, are engulfed by Celestia's yellow aura.

"Elements of Harmony," Celestia began to the gems as they floated into the air, "Find your bearers, the ones destined for greatness, so that my little sister may return home again."

With that, the Elements floated off into the night, searching for the six humans that would possess the qualities each Element represented: laughter, kindness, loyalty, honesty, generosity, and most importantly, magic.
