Mason Mount - Christmas Movie Night

Y/N’S POV

It was Friday afternoon and the kids last day of school before the Christmas holidays. I promised them that I would pick them up and then we could all go and get Mason from training. Mason and I had planned a cosy movie night in with them both. Our house was decorated from top to bottom with Christmas decorations. I arrived at the school at 10 past three waiting for them to be let out at quarter past. It was a good night to be snuggled up under blankets with the fire on as it had recently become really cold throughout England. “Mummy!” I turned and Mia was running towards me, I bent down and gave her a hug greeting her. “Hey darling, did you have a nice day?” “Yeah it was so fun we did some crafts and look I made you and daddy a card.” “Wow that’s so good, we can put it on the fridge.” Mia held onto my hand whilst we waited patiently for Alex. A few minutes later he emerged from the classroom entrance and smiled when he noticed us, he came over. “Hey bud, how was your day?” “Good thanks.” “Right you two we need to go and get daddy so we can start the surprise.” Their faces lit up after hearing the word ‘surprise’. Mia let go of my hand and walked in front with Alex eager to get back. We got to the car and I made sure they were both strapped in and we headed for the Cobham training ground. Throughout the journey the kids discussed their days at school. “Here we go, we need to call daddy and ley him know we are here.” “Can we call mummy?” “Go on then.” Mason picked up pretty quickly not really knowing what the kids were trying to tell them because they got distracted from the topic at hand. “What they are trying to say Mase is that we are here so come out when your ready.” I heard him chuckle down the line. “Alright, I won’t be long.” Mason walked into the carpark and Alex leant over my chair to honk the horn alerting Mason of our whereabouts. He smiled widely when he noticed us. “Hey guys, hey babe.” He kissed my cheek as he climbed into the passenger side. “What’s the surprise?” Alex questioned. “Not saying yet buddy, but me and mummy need to get snacks and thought you could help us choose.” “Yesss!” Mia was fairly food driven which was good when it came to ‘bribing’ her. Throughout the journey to the shops Mia and Alex were telling Mason all about their days. I parked up and we all climbed out and made our way to the entrance of Tescos. “Right so we don’t have a sugar rush, you can both choose two sweets or chocolates each, and then me and mummy will get some popcorn or something.” Mason and the kids went to get their snacks whilst I got stuff for me and him. We met up again and Alex was taking ages to choose something so Mia decided to be helpful and choose something which resulted in a small argument. “Hey if you two are gonna argue then me and daddy will eat the snacks and you can go to bed.” The stopped arguing after that not knowing if I’d follow through or not. We paid and then headed home. Once we got home Mason went to help bathe the kids whilst I got everything ready for the movie. I went into the bathroom to discover Alex and Mia giving Mason a beard made of bubbles, which made me laugh. “Hey when your done in here I’ve got you both matching Christmas pj’s.” “Okay, I’ll make sure their dressed and we will meet you in the lounge Y/N/.” “Sounds good.” I went back into the lounge and put the fire on and then got Netflix open ready to put the film on. I brought mine and Mason’s duvet down as it was big enough for us all to snuggle under it. “Mummy, can we have our snacks now?” “Just a sec. Right come on you three lets go into the lounge go and sit on the sofa but leave a space for me.” Mason led them into the lounge in their little pj’s. I came in moments later armed with all the snacks and sat down next to Mason who pulled me into his side. “So we thought it would be nice to have Christmas film night every Friday on the lead up to Christmas, so what do you want to watch?” “Elf!” “Nativity!” “Wait yeah not Elf I wanna watch Nativity, like Mia said.” “Okay Nativity it is.” I put the film on and the kids were quiet for the first time since I picked them up. I smiled up at Mason and he placed a kiss to my head. The kids were stuffing their faces with all the food.

Mason’s POV

Y/N had worked really hard to make this fun for the kids and I could tell they were enjoying it. Laughing at the film and they were also getting along nicely which was good to see. It had been a busy half term especially with my schedule so this was nice to chill and spend time together. The film had only been on for 35 minutes but Y/N had fallen asleep on my shoulder and so I pulled the duvet over her more to keep her warm and let her get some well earned rest. By the end of the film the kids had also fallen asleep curled up on the sofa so I turned the TV off and tried to sleep as well as I didn’t want to wake any of them up when I tried to move them back to their own beds.
