Bukayo’s POV

Tonight, we were playing Andorra at Wembley in order to qualify for the world cup. My girlfriend Y/N was going to be there to support me. I was looking forward to the match and it should be an easy win. It was also my 20th birthday and it seemed like a great way to be spending a birthday, playing for my country. However, I was still nervous to return to Wembley after the euro final but I was hoping that the home crowd would be backing me and the rest of the team. “Bukayo, are you ready to go? I’ll drive today.” “Thanks Y/N that’s so kind but I’d much rather not die on my way to the game.” “Oh haha very funny, I’m still driving.” I couldn’t be bothered to argue with her about who was driving so I let her drive.

We arrived at the stadium and Y/N dropped me off to where I’d be meeting the rest of the team. “Good luck!” I thanked her and watched her drive off to park the car. When I caught up with the rest of the team I received many birthday wishes. “Hey Patrick, happy birthday bro.” “Oh thanks mate you too I guess today was a good day to be born.” He joked. I nodded. We got taken to the changing rooms where we got our training kit on ready for the warm up. Gareth led us out onto the pitch and I still couldn’t get over the size of it. Even after playing many matches here it still felt surreal when I stepped out onto the pitch. We warmed up and the crowds started entering the stadium. Kick off was in 15 mins and Gareth announced his squad for the evening, I wasn’t starting but I was sub so that was okay. It was nice watching some of the other team play.

The referee took the teams onto the pitch to get ready for the national anthem and myself and the other subs took our spots. Andorra did their anthem first and then we sang. The crowd joining in and creating a great atmosphere. The whistle blew for the first half to commence. Y/N was seated just beside where the subs and coaches were which was handy as it meant I could speak to her from over the barrier. It was a dominant first half from England and we had the higher percentage of possession. Jesse scored and the crowd went wild we all ran onto the pitch to join In with the congratulations. “What a lovely goal Jesse and very well deserved.” “Aw thanks Saka.” By half time it was still 1-0 and Andorra had not had many shots.

**Time skip to 60 mins**

It had reached around the 60 minute mark of the match and we were still only 1-0 up so Gareth decided to make some changes. At first he subbed on Mount and Grealish and then Kane and myself. I was really looking forward to playing again at Wembley now. “Hey good luck Bukayo your going to do great babe.” “Aw thanks Y/N.” I jogged onto the pitch and the crowd roared it made me feel great and I was excited to play. Jesse scored again making it 2-0 and once again we celebrated his goal. Mason was making his way into the box when an Andorran player fouled him. The ref gave us a penalty and Harry took it seeing as he pretty much is the king of pens for the squad. He got ready to take it and my heart was pounding loudly in my chest. I was so nervous, but I had confidence he would score. Harry ran up and booted the ball into the net. The crowd went wild as Harry put us 3-0 up. We had around 15 minutes left of the match and the ball was down towards the Andorra goal where we were shooting. Jesse passed the ball towards to the goal where it narrowly missed but the rebound bounced upwards it was heading in my direction, so I leaped up and headed it. It went into the goal, and I couldn’t believe it I was so happy, the crowd were cheering and singing. The whole team came over and congratulated me on my goal. I had made it 4-0 and I was so happy.

**Time skip to end of match**

I ran over to Y/N at the end of the match and gave her a huge hug. “That was an incredible goal, I am so proud of you, you played so well.” “Thank you, Y/N means a lot.” The team came over and we all celebrated our win. “Hey Bukayo, I just want to say what a great match you played and that header was amazing, you should be really proud of yourself.” “Thank you Gareth I am so happy with the outcome of the match I mean two 4-0 wins in a row it amazing.”
