Eddie groaned and threw his phone across the room which caused Richie to flinch.
"What the fuck was that for Eds?" Richie asked, readjusting his position on the floor. Eddie shrugged and looked back at his math paper.
"People are being so nosy with my sexuality. I don't understand why can't I just be friends with you and be straight in peace?!"
"People just think you and Richie would be a cute couple that's all" Beverly added from her spot in the chair next to the bed. Eddie sighed and rolled over while covering his face with his hand.
"That's ridiculous" he murmured.
"Aw common Eds everyone wants a piece of Richie the trashmouth Tozier. Even you" Richie said, wiggling his eyebrows a little and smiling.
"Beep beep Richie" Eddie and Beverly groaned in unison. The three of them glanced at each other and broke into laughter.
Once the laughter had fizzled out Eddie went back to focusing on his math work while Richie watched him. A sudden thought popped into his mind and a smirk forced his way onto his face.
"Eddie spaghetti"
"What Richie?" Eddie asked turning so he could face Richie.
"We could always just give the people what they want"
"I don't follow"
"I mean like we could pretend to date. These people's fantasy's are never gonna go away unless we do something about it" Richie said while staring down at the floor. For some reason bringing up that idea make his stomach flip.
"That's an awful idea Richard!" Eddie yelled, sitting up in bed a little.
"No no Richie's onto something" Beverly piped up. Eddie glared over at her, a mix of confusion and frustration planted on his face.
"You two can pretend to date. Not yet but soon. And then in a couple of months you can pretend to break up. After that the people won't ship you two anymore". Richie jerked his head up to stare at Beverly. He felt an uneasy feeling in his stomach now. Why did that idea bother him so much?
"That's not a bad idea... ok I'm in I guess. BUT Richie we only do coupley things for the public. Got it?" Eddie said in a stern tone. Richie fixed his glasses a little and forced a smile.
