As the light approached them they stood there in a trance, a tiny voice called out to them from the light....
"Young ones! young ones! Please come closer.
They were shocked, but walked around the lake towards the light and followed it through the trees. They were quite brave. As they walked they came across a forest of willow tree and the tree leaves were moving about on their own. All the vines suddenly started rising and gave way to another clear but beautiful part of the forest that has never been seen before and completely untouched by human hands. The altering of the landscape since the arrival of the Maggicants changed the surroundings greatly causing a shift in the environment and creating new unexplored areas and this happens to be one of such areas. The light continued moving through the trees and the adventurers followed close behind. when they walked pass the trees a pair of wings suddenly popped out of the ball of light and it turned into a person with huge wings perturbing from their back.
"Are you a fairy?" Phoenix asked surprised.
As phoenix spoke he slowly raised his camera dramatically.
"Put that thing away child!" the fairy shouted.
"I'm sorry," Phoenix said apologetically bowing his head.
"I am the fairy princess Iris. this is our village. we were forced into hiding by you humans who keep invading our forest. we use to live out in the open flying around freely and all that, until you humans started coming in here everyday and disturbing our peace, but enough about us, the reason you're here is because you were invited. Notice how you didn't encounter any creatures on your way here. It's simple because we asked them to let you through. We need your help, there are only six fairies left in this entire village we need you to protect the legacies of all the creatures in the mystic level not just fairies but all of them, we are on the verge of being extinct. For some mysterious reason all the upper level creatures are dying and we need you to find out why an help us please. It is for this reason we hide from humans," the fairy explained sadly.
"We'll help! but..." Grey said cautiously.
"But...?" The fairy asked confused.
"We still need a picture for our assignment," Layla continued to explain to Iris.
"I'll do anything I'll even pose for it if it means you'll help us," Iris exclaimed excitedly.
After they took the picture they decided to head back because it was getting late. They decided to research some stuff and try to find the cause and see if they can fix the problem. Iris the princess of the fairies thanked them profusely.
Iris had posed for the camera as she promised. They took several selfies with her and some other pictures of her. Afterwards she escorted them out of the forest and they all went home due to it being late. They had fun and left with big smiles from ear to ear. The very next day they went to class all excited. They really wanted to turn in their assignments that very day but unfortunately their ill-mannered professor refuses to take or even look at assignments before they are due.
"It seems some of you have already completed your assignments, however I will not be collecting them until tomorrow. Please do not bother me with your foolishness by begging me to take your assignments and try to take up my free time. There will be no extensions so the rest of you should plea... I mean you should complete your assignments before sun down tomorrow. Time for todays lessons.
The students started whispering,"was he about to say please? For some reason he quickly changed the subject? I wonder if this professor is actually a big softie under all that jerkish barking he's been doing? He even seemed to be in a good mood".
The morning classes went smoothly the prepared students were a little disappointed about not being able to turn in their assignment right away. They started to count the hours left until the next day. After first period they went out for lunch an ran into Kyle.
"Hey Phoenix, did you losers find your precious little fairies?" Kyle asked while gigglingly.
"Believe it or not we did. You could see it tomorrow like everyone else instead of bothering us now," Phoenix said arrogantly.
"There is no way you found a fairy, I bet it was just a butterfly or a bug or something," Kyle said laughing as he annoyed everyone in the group.
"Phoenix come get your lunch and don't listen to that moronic imbecile," Layla said while showing destain.
"sure," Phoenix responded with a smile.
"I heard Kyle's family was rich. Its too bad there are some things that money can't buy," Grey said laughingly.
"Yeah, like common sense for instance," Layla said while shaking her head.
Gray & Layla laughed at him.
"You guys shouldn't be so mean. It's not nice to tease the underdeveloped, you're just dragging yourself down to his level and I'm sure you would like being there", Phoenix explained seriously.
"He's right we shouldn't tease the animals, eating food is a better use of our time," Layla said.
"Layla stop you're killing me," Grey said while laughing uncontrollably.
"Enough you two lunch time is coming to an end, we should really get back to class," Phoenix said with a sly smile across his lips.
Everyone promptly left their tables and headed back to the classroom. Lessons resumed and the day passed by pretty quickly. The next day arrived soon after. The group was excited to turn in their pictures but at the last moment they remembered something important that Iris said.
"I am the fairy Iris. this is our village. we were forced into hiding by you humans who keep invading our forest. we use to live out in the open flying around freely and all that, until you humans started coming in here everyday.
"If we show them these pictures Iris and her friends will be in danger!!!" Phoenix exclaimed.
"I already thought of that little scenario. You see they are gonna want to know where we found those fairies and that's why we are gonna tell the truth no beating around the bush," Layla explained.
"Are you nuts? wait, what's the truth exactly?" Phoenix asked confused.
"You're not as smart as you act are you? The truth is...." Layla said as she froze realized how the boys paid attention.
They all waited expectantly for Layla to explain what their plans were.
"What are you staring at me for. The truth is we don't know geniuses. Did you halfwits forget we didn't find that place all by our selves, if I remember correctly we were led there so we obviously wont be finding it again any time soon,"Layla said annoyed.
"Yeah you're right, lets just turn in the pictures and be done with it," Phoenix said relieved.
"Hey you guys just realized you took the picture of a butterfly or something you're all frozen in place like a bunch of statues. I'll have you know I got full marks for a level 3 creature and what do you guys have, it's a big fat zero right? Its's ok not everyone can be as cool as me.
The group ignored Kyle as they walked up to the teacher
They turned in their pictures and the professors jaws dropped. Franticly flipping through the pictures over and over again to see if they were genuine. He slowly placed them on his desk and looked at the team with anxious eyes and a wide smile. The four waited silently for the questions to start flying.
"Where did you get these? where is this, I mean which forest? I've never seen such a place. Astounding!, You have to take me there," the teacher said excited as the group looked at him in disgust at the way he stared at the pictures.
They all stared at him blankly.
"Who are you and what have you done with our teacher?" Everyone thought conservatively.
