Ricky's pov

"What if I don't wanna?!", I shout.

"Ricky you're gonna have to deal with it at some point! Might as well start this year!", Gina yells back, throwing her hands in the air.

"You know how much I hate this time of year, Gi! Give me a break!"

"It's been ten years Ricky! I think you've had enough ti-"

"Both of you. Downstairs.", Lily orders, standing in the doorway.

Lily is the assistant around here. She kinda helps us with everything. She takes care of all the other workers and whatnot, so we don't have too. She's extremely strict sometimes.

I groan and roll my eyes, following Gina and Lily out of my bedroom. I walk down the stairs, hands placed in my pockets, as I arrive in the main hall. My aunt and uncle, known as the king and queen, are waiting for us. I notice EJ, Red, Kourtney, and Howie already with them, waiting for us I assume.

"Nice of you to join us...", my uncle, Phil, greets.

Out of all my other family who could've taken the position of king and queen when my parents died...why did it have to be them. My aunt and uncle are the worst. They treat me like I'm five when I'm literally 18. And I think being in the position of king and queen is rotting their brains.

"What was so important that I had to come down here?", I groan.

"Do not speak to your uncle that way.", my aunt, Jill, scolds. I just roll my eyes at her.

As we wait a couple more minutes, all the workers begin to pile into the main hall. The cooks, the maids, the assistants, everybody. What was so important?

Phil clears his throat, "As you all know, Christmas is three weeks away. After ten years, we've decided to bring back the annual Christmas party."

As those words come off of his lips, I feel my heart sink to my stomach. I blankly stare at them two, until I stomp away and up the stairs.

How could they do this to me? They know what happened on that day, ten years ago. My parents left this Earth, and I was left with nothing.

I slam my bedroom door closed as I jump onto my bed and stare at the ceiling. My chest was moving up and down fast and I felt my blood boiling. I couldn't take it anymore and I jumped up, grabbing a glass vase off the dresser, and raising it in the air, about to smash it to the floor, just when my door opened.

"Dude! Put the vase down, would you?!", Red bursts in.

I scoff and set the vase back down on the dresser. I turn away from him and sit back on my bed, going on my phone. That is, until it's snatched from my possession.

"What do you want?", I complain.

"To ask you what the heck is up?", he says, almost as if it's obvious.

I sarcastically smile and reply, "Oh Red! Nothing oh nothing is wrong! Just my insane aunt and uncle throwing the Christmas party knowing well enough what happened ten years ago on that day!"

He sighs as looks at me, "Ricky...you're gonna have to get over it eventually..."

"Red, you have no idea how painful it is for me. I dread Christmas day...every single year. Families around the word are together, happily opening gifts and exchanging hugs and kisses while I sit here, locked in my room, grieving. Crying. Punching thin air for goodness sakes!", I raise my voice.

"Okay okay...I'm sorry. I just- want you to enjoy that day for one year. To feel the Christmas spirit again...it's a good time of year Ricky. Truly...", he speaks.

I roll my eyes, "That's nonsense. This is the worst time of year and I'll never feel that same Christmas spirit again so just...f-forget it."

He sighs and walks out of my room, closing the door behind him. My room goes silent as I plop down onto my bed, staring at the ceiling.

"I miss you mom and dad...", I whisper, a single tear trickling down my face.
