it's a field test.. // raptor paddock // 12

we pulled up to the raptor paddock, only to be met with hoskins and ingen. claire, owen, and i got out, leaving the boys in the vehicle. "the mother hen has finally arrived." he said, revealing a shit eating grin. i go up to him and punch him square in the mouth. while he was holding onto his jaw, i kicked him where the sun doesn't shine. by now, he was doubled over. i went to go knee him in the throat only to be pulled back by large hands on my waist. i huffed, blowing my hair out of my face. "get the hell out of here and stay away from my animals." owen snapped. once i realized it was owen who was holding me, i melted into his touch. hoskins finally stood straight and tall. "hoskins, you wanted this to happen, you son of a bitch!" claire's voice was fueled with annoyance. he looked between us three before developing a scowl on his face. "jesus! how many more people have to die before this mission starts to make sense to you?" he asks, clearing annoyed with us and how we "ruined" his "mission." barry came up next to us. "it's not a mission." he starts, looking at us. "it's a field test.." claire, barry, owen, and i trailed off with our words. "this is an ingen situation now. okay, there are gonna be cruise ships that show up here at first light. everybody's gonna get off this island. you're gonna watch a news story tomorrow about how you all saved lives. no, better yet, how your animals saved lives!" hoskins put his finger in our faces. i took his finger and bent it backwards. "oops, sorry. my hand must've slipped." i barked, tasting the sarcasm in my own voice. owen's grips got tighter the more mad i was. "they've never been out of containment." barry starts. "it's crazy." he finishes. "let's move it out!" hoskins yelled before looking back at us. "this is happening! with or without you."
