Today was the first day of school and I am so hyped! I prepared my backpack with my crayons, markers, and notebooks.
I was quite nervous. Questions were keep spinning in my head:
Will I like it? Will I make any friends? What is school?
My Mom walked me to school and then we had to say 'goodbye'. I kissed Mom on the cheek and left sweating and nervous. I turned a little to see if Mom was still there and she was; she was crying and crying and crying. She can feel that I'm nervous.
I went to this thing called 'class' and there were other kids like me, my age I think.
I bumped into this really pretty girl, she had brown hair, brown skin as brown as her eyes and she said her name is Kate.
I introduced myself as Arrya, and Kate introduced me to these girls and boys.
Mya, Juliet, Andrea, Lucy, Matilda, and Stephanie. Stephanie was SO mean! She would keep bullying me for my eyes because they are purple! Purple! Why would someone bully me for that? The other girls thought I looked pretty. They said it's not often for someone to have purple eyes.
"Where I used to live, almost everyone has purple eyes and so does my Mom," I said shyly.
"Really? That is so cool!" said Juliet, impressed.
And then Kate and the girls introduced me to these boys:
Liam, Noah, Oliver, William, James, Benjamin, Lucas, and Jax. Jax is SO handsome! He has blonde hair and green eyes! What is more gorgeous than that?
Then a cranky woman came into the class and told us all to sit somewhere.
"Come sit next to me!" yelled Kate from the other side of the classroom.
I quickly came and just then I saw that I will be sitting next to Jax too. I felt like I had butterflies in my stomach. I felt so weird.
The teacher introduced herself as Carmen Brown and asked us all to stand up and introduce ourselves and say a little bit about ourselves.
When it was my turn, I stood up slowly and introduced myself as Arrya Schuyler.
"My name is Arrya Schuyler, I'm 13 and... I have purple eyes?" I said. "Oh, I also like dogs very much and have purple hair? Umm, no... I mean yes! N - never mind." I said embarrassed and shyly.
I could see through my strands of hair Stephanie looking at me angrily. But I could also see Jax looking at me smiling!
Then Kate introduced herself, as Kate Green, saying she's 13 in 6 weeks and that she likes dogs and actually owns a German Shepherd, and asked me if I would like to come over to her place sometime.
I obviously said yes.
Later, Jax introduced himself.
"Hi, I'm Jax. My name is Jax Huxley I'm 13 and even though almost everyone from the class knows me, I'll still continue. So, I like Minecraft, robots, and aliens --"
"Wait, you like aliens?" I asked, surprised.
"Yes, I do. Do you?" he asked, impressed.
"Yes, in fact, I do..." I said gingerly.
"That's so cool! Would you like to come to my place sometime to talk about them?"
"Yes. Sure!" I said with delight.
Was he actually asking me to come over? And does he actually like aliens? I was shocked that he actually didn't think I was weird by me saying I like aliens. This was great!
After class, we had to go home, and when I wanted to leave, Stephanie stopped me by pushing me to the wall.
"Listen, you, whatyourname! Ah, yes, Arrya. I don't want you anywhere near Jax, you hear me? Or you'll just have to suffer the consequences." she said angrily.
I didn't listen to her and just pushed her away, so hard, that she fell to the floor.
"Listen, I don't want to cause any trouble, alright? So leave me alone!" I said loudly.
She was completely speechless and I just left, quietly.
I bumped into Kate again and we talked on the way out.
"Listen, Arrya, I know Stephanie is very mean. She used to bully me last year and I tell you, it was terrible! So I suggest you don't make her angry." she said calmly.
"But what am I supposed to do if she keeps picking on me? I can't just let her bully me! I have to do something." I said confidently.
"True, but, I suggest you stay out of it," she replied.
When we got out, I spotted Mom in the crowd of other parents. I ran directly to her, and hugged her really tight, like a small bear hug.
"How was it, sweetheart?" she asked.
"It was good. I made a couple of friends." I said slowly.
"Really? That's great!" she said joyfully. "Who are they?"
"Oh, umm, Kate, Jax - he's a real hottie Mom!" I said enthusiastically. "But, I also made an enemy, Stephanie. She's like the class bully. She would bully everyone and I guess now I'm her next target." I said disappointed.
"Well, bullies are always out there, but you need to know how to ignore them because there is no point in using up your energy for Steph - Stephanie?
"Yes," I said.
"So like I was saying, you have to leave them alone, but in rest Kate and Jax? That's great!" she said happily.
"Kate said if I'd like, for I can come over to meet her dog, Skyler! It's kind of similar to our last name, huh? I said, impressed.
"I think it's identical! Super cool, honey." Mom said, smiling.
Yeah... and oh! Jax asked if I could come over to his place so we could talk about aliens! Alien, Mom! Can you believe it? He actually likes aliens!"
"That's incredible!"
