It took a couple of days for me to recover, but now I'm back at school healthy and alright. The Science teacher let Kate and I postpone our science experiment to Friday and we got second place! I'm so happy I won second place, while Stephanie and her group won first place because they made a tornado in a bottle. That's not so cool anyways! But, apparently, she won.
Now, Kate and I are going to be ignoring Stephanie with her cruel pranks and comments.
"So, what would you like us to do today?" asked Kate. "We could go to the park after school.
"Uh, I'm so sorry but... I can't. I'm going with Jax to his house to talk more about aliens." I said smiling.
"Oh, it's alright," she took a big breath and said, "I was just wondering, do you like Jax by any chance?"
"NO! N-n... yes. I mean yes..." I said slowly. "Do you like him by any chance?"
"We used to date," she said half smiling.
"Really?" I was shocked. "Do you still like him?"
"No... not really though."
"So, do you mind if I ask you a question?"
She just looked at me and nodded.
"Ok. Umm, how come you don't date anymore — how do you say it? Ah, yes, broken up."
"Well, we didn't have many things in common anymore... and he started liking aliens like you," she said.
"But, then, how come we are friends? I mean if you don't like aliens." I was kind of sad.
"But you're different. I like it that we have different opinions. That's what makes us good friends. You know, I actually think you two would make a great couple.
"U-us. A-a Coup-ple? W-what do y-you mean?" I was shocked.
"Yes! I mean, you guys have a whole lot of things in common and I honestly think that he also likes you. The way he looks at you is breathtaking," she said smiling.
"You think?" I was still shocked.
"Definitely! When you go over to his place, look at how he looks at you." she looked at me and winked.
"Alright!" I said cheerfully.
We had to go to class, and while in class I couldn't stop thinking about him...
After class, I went to my locker when I met Jax there. I felt butterflies all over my stomach.
"Ready?" he asked. His smile is so dreamy. I could barely think.
"Y-yes." I stammered.
"Can I help you with your books?"
"Umm, don't you have books to carry as well?" I asked.
"Yes. But I have a backpack, while you don't."
"True," I giggled.
We stayed silent a couple of moments and then Jax said:
"How come you don't have a backpack?"
"I do. But it's at home," I said slowly. "It has a really cool alien on it."
"What? Then how come you don't bring it to school?" he looked shocked and impressed at the same time.
"I don't want anyone to bully me because of my backpack... when I had to buy the backpack the cashier started laughing and saying that I'm a girl and I shouldn't wear such a backpack."
