The Journey

As Percy was flying at a casual one hundred miles an hour through the skies above New York. He cried. He cried for the loss of the woman he loved. He cried because he wasn't strong enough. He then made a vow right then and there that he would get stronger like his deceased uncle Goku, or his true Saiyan name, Kakarot.

It was this vow that made up his mind about getting a visa to live in Japan to go to UA High. One of the top schools for becoming a hero. It was this vow that made him go see his mother before he left to go see his aunt Chi Chi and his younger cousin Gohan.

As he descended from the air, landing in front of his mother's apartment, he used the water in the air to clean Luke's blood off of his knuckles. He walks up to the door and knocks twice. His tail twitching slightly as his nerves started to rise. He hears someone come to the door with his slightly enhanced hearing due to his Saiyan heritage.

Sally opened the door of her apartment, not sure of who would be here at this time of night. She however, was shocked to see her son in front of her with a broken look in his eyes. He had the eyes of a man who had lost everything important to him.

"Percy, what happened?" She asked, trying not to push her son too far. Pulling him into a tight hug, which he gratefully returned. She felt something wet on her shoulder and looked down to see her boy sobbing into her chest.

"I-I couldn't save Annabeth." He couldn't finish speaking as even the thought of what happened to her made him feel helpless.

"I'm sure you did everything you could for the one you loved. Percy, but you must remember, you are a Saiyan and a demigod. You are a proud warrior, she would not want you blaming yourself for something that you had no control over." He nodded into her shoulder as her stopped crying.

"You're right, I'm sorry, I actually came here to tell you that I'm leaving for Japan to go to UA and train with Gohan. I should be back by mid June to help with the war effort against my grandfather. I'll IM you when I get there and I'm sure Aunt Chi Chi will update you as to how I'm doing otherwise."

Sally simply smiled softly at how mature her son was becoming. She had known that it wouldn't be long before Kronos would push her son beyond his limits and force him even further than her own limits. Yet, she was proud. Proud of the warrior he was becoming. Proud of how he wouldn't stop his training in order to protect the one's he loved.

"You better mister, I'm not gonna sit here and worry about you being that far away from me without knowing what's happening to you. But how will you deal with the full moon? You know what's going to happen once you look upon it." She questioned, the reason she asked this specific question. Is because Saiyans that kept their tails, tend to turn into 50 foot tall apes of mass destruction whenever they gaze upon a full moon.

"Don't worry about the moon mom. I'll be fine, besides there's a power level I won't be able to reach if I get rid of my tail." He reassured her, hoping to the gods of the Manhattan skyline that he could reach that power level soon.

She simply nodded and hugged him tightly.

"Do you have a bag packed? Because I'm not letting you leave this house looking like that." She joked, hoping to get some sort of reaction out of him. She ended up succeeding when she saw the slight tug of his lips moving upward.

"I'll pack a bag, I also need to tell you about something that happened on the mountain when I witnessed her death."

She nodded, giving him time to calm his nerves before he told her about what happened on Mount Tam. From holding the weight of the sky to becoming a Super Saiyan and quite literally quoting what his uncle spoke to Frieza on the dying Planet Namek.

No words could describe how sorry she felt for her son. Yet she felt proud of him, knowing that his pure heart allowed him to become a Super Saiyan like his uncle and his cousin. So Sally did the next best thing, she placed a hand on his shoulder, looked him in the eyes and told him, "I'm proud of you and I know that Kakarot would be as well. You have a long journey ahead of you but I know that you will do what is right."

He smiled and thanked his mother before going to change into a new training gi. It was a sea green top and bottom tied together with a blue belt that tied at the waist. Blue weighted wrist bands and weighted boots to make him push himself further during his training. He packed a bag with clothes and ambrosia and nectar for injuries he might potentially get. He packed Riptide, he could really only use the sword of a monster came after him. Finally, he packed a picture of his mother's father, Bardock, the man who he got his middle name from.

"I hope you're proud of what I'm doing grandfather, I promise you that I will become the strongest to protect the one's I love. Just like you did when you gave your life to protect my mother and uncle against Frieza." He said while looking at his grandfather.

With that, he bid his mother goodbye, jumped into the air and started his journey towards Mt. Paozu in Japan.

                                         TIME SKIP

When he finally reached his aunt's house, he didn't know how she would react. He knew that she would accept him, but would she let him continue to train. He knew that she gave up on getting Gohan to focus on his studies because he had overheard his mother and aunt talking about how he needed to get stronger in case another being like Cell came around. Since Goku had sacrificed his life in hopes of defeating the bug android, Gohan had dedicated his life to training and raising his little brother, Goten.

He decided to just knock on the door anyway, about a minute later. It opened to reveal, not Chi Chi, but his younger cousin, Gohan.

"Percy? What are you doing here?" He questioned warily. It wasn't like his older cousin to just come by and visit. They lived on different sides of the world, so it would be hard for them to get together unless it was a holiday.

"Hey Gohan, I uh, I became a Super Saiyan like Uncle last night over in California and I need to get stronger. There's a war coming back home and I refuse to lose anyone else." He said while scratching the back of his neck. "I also enrolled into UA, so I could have a job for when I'm done with this war."

Gohan didn't know what to say to that.
"Okay, I'll let mom know you're here, but you need to tell me about this war thing and how you transformed alright?" Percy chuckled and nodded his head as they both entered to cozy little home.

"Mom, Percy is here!" He yelled out, getting his mother's attention.

"Percy, what are you doing here? It's great to see you though." She greeted her nephew until she saw the look in his eyes, realizing that he wasn't ok and that he needed someone to watch over him.

"Hey Aunt Chi Chi, is it alright if I stay here until I'm done with my freshman year at UA? I need to get stronger and can't do that until I get a hero license." He asked, unaware of the fact that his tail had unwrapped from around his waist.

Chi Chi told him that yes, he could stay for as long as he needed to. But he had to tell both her and Gohan when he had realized he was a Saiyan.

So he told them everything. From learning of his demigod heritage, learning of Kronos starting a second Titan war against the Gods, and finally of how he turned into a Super Saiyan after losing Annabeth.

To say that it was a lot to take in would be an understatement, yet they knew that he was telling the truth. So Gohan told Percy that the both of them would enroll into UA doing the entrance exams. They would begin their training the very next day.

As Percy went to bed that night, he made a promise, "I swear that until the day I die, this planet shall be protected from all evil. I swear this not upon the River Styx, but upon my life itself."

With that, he went to bed knowing that he will become a hero soon enough.
