It was the aftermath of the Los Angeles 500.
Then Jackson Storm goes on the stand.

Then Jackson Storm's trailer door closed and Gale drives away.
Then Lightning McQueen went to Rusty and Dusty.
"I'm sorry I lost the race in the last place." Lightning McQueen said.
"Don't worry, Lightning. You can still keep racing." Rusty and Dusty said.
"I don't want to retire! I want to keep racing!" Stone Breaker said.
"I don't know about that! I think it's best if you retire now!" The Titoline Sponsor said.
"Come on! Just let me race for one last time! If I lose, I will retire. But if I win, I want to keep racing!" Stone Breaker said.
"All right! But if you win that race in the Florida 500, but lose four more races after that one, then you will retire." The Titoline Sponsor.
"I don't want to retire! I want to keep racing!" Brick Yardley said.
"I don't know about that! I think it's best if you retire now!" The Vitoline Sponsor said.
"Come on! Just let me race for one last time! If I lose, I will retire. But if I win, I want to keep racing!" Brick Yardley said.
"All right! But if you win that race in the Florida 500 but lose four more after that, then you will retire." The Vitoline Sponsor said.
"I don't want to retire! I want to keep racing!" Bobby Swift said.
"I don't know about that! I think it's best if you retire now!" The Octane Gain Sponsor said.
"Come on! Just let me race for one last time! If I lose, I will retire! But if I win, I want to keep racing!" Bobby Swift said.
"All right! But if you win that race in the Florida 500 but lose four more after that, then you will retire." The Octane Gain Sponsor said.
Then the Titoline Sponsor, the Vitoline Sponsor, and the Octane Gain Sponsor went to each other to talk about the next generation rookies that are going to replace their racers.
Then Lightning McQueen went to the Titoline Sponsor, the Vitoline Sponsor, and the Octane Gain Sponsor.
"You can't do that to them! Why can't you let them race for as long as they want when they win?!" Lightning McQueen asked.
"It's the best thing for them. We can't have any more losses. I am not sure why Rusty and Dusty will let you keep racing but it doesn't concern us." The Sponsors said.
"Then let's make a bet." Lightning McQueen said.
"A bet?" The Sponsors asked.
"Yep! If I lose, I will do work for you three during the fall and winter. But if I win, then Bobby Swift, Brick Yardley, and Stone Breaker gets to race for as long as they want." Lightning McQueen said.
"That seems fair to me!" The Octane Gain Sponsor said.
"And to me too!" The Vitoline Sponsor said.
"And to me three!" The Titoline Sponsor said.
"We will change our deal with our race if they win, they can race as long as they want. But your friends won't be able to return to the stadium if you lose at the Florida 500" The Sponsors said.
Then the Sponsors went to their racers.
