After a two-hour break at the rest stop, Hayes had taken the liberty of driving the next chunk of the highway. While also inhaling a breakfast sandwich that Liam and Ally had picked up from the rest stops' limited selection.
Sage hadn't been all that hungry, not after the headache she woke up with after sitting in the driver's seat beside Enzo. So they coaxed her into laying down with a cup of tea in hand, and not long after, she hid away in her bunk and tried to concentrate on said feelings.
The way Aurora and the rest of the witches taught Sage, was that meditation didn't require anything. Of course, quiet and candles helped set the tone, but it wouldn't be wise to rely on them. She tried to focus on her voice, summoning the tension that was driving her wild.
Only to be willed to stop as she gasped for air. Loud enough to cause Blake to panic.
Who ripped aside the curtain and looked to his Luna. "Goddess, what happened?" Seeing her so shaken up, but seeking immediate comfort caused an even worse strain on their bond.As the Luna's Charge, he could feel the remanence of what she felt or witnessed, but this was coursing through his body so violently that he couldn't help but squeeze her tightly.
"We need to call Remus..." Blake suggested, his eyes looking up to Hayes as he attempted to soothe Sage. And at the mention of her mate, she nodded, thinking his voice would do her some good. Yet Hayes shook his head.
"Sir, we can't—"
"Sage, sweetheart. Why don't you take a shower and go and sit with the pups for a little while? Yeah? We'll call Remus in a bit." While having been talked at like a pup herself, she hardly had any energy to disagree as she rose up and hurried into the bathroom just a few steps from her bunk.It only smelled lightly of mating since the last time she took a shower, but drowning herself in the fruity scents of body wash caused her muscles to relax and a breathless sigh to escape her. Meditating hadn't helped, and the anxious feeling caught in her chest didn't settle down.
Darius? Can you hear me?... I don't know what you want,
I don't understand. I hope you're okay. The connection was open, she feel the twinkling sparks. Which told her that he was there, and perhaps if she called him correctly then all this could be sorted.
And thus she decided, that once they arrived at Mystic Grimm she would surely call out Darius to be present on the same plane.
Otherwise, her day was spent curling up with the pups, helping Raven make tea or bottles for the babies when they themselves were too weak and tired to breastfeed them. Everyone was desperate to take a break from the confining walls of the R.V, so they took another opportunity to pull into another rest stop in the middle of the day—Which prompted a call to Remus, who tried to persuade them to keep moving.
"Remus, we have three children in this damn bus. We won't be staying for more than an hour, alright? The last thing we need is the bus to break on us." Hayes had attempted to reason with the Alpha. It wasn't an impossible venture, but everyone needed a break and this was the closest they could get. And the honorable mention of them keeping the day and night cycle for the pups was important as well, as night was reserved for proper sleep.
Sage had snagged the phone from her father and held it up to her ear. "Remmy I need real food, I don't want to keep feeding pups bottle stuff. It smells funny."
"Alright alright, tell your dad I fixed the card and you should be able to use it. Get some sticks? And tea, have you been drinking tea?"
"Yes, lots of tea with Raven. We have a kitchen on the bus...Rue, say hi to papa." She whispered, and Remus felt himself freeze in hearing the small babbles and half-word mixed with half gibberish sounds that his daughter was making through the phone.
