Melanie

It felt so weird being back in my hometown and I wish I could say that everything was exactly the same, but it wasn't. There was so much that changed about this small town I used to call home, but I couldn't get caught up on all the changes. I had to focus.

I cursed myself for breaking my phone, because I had no way for this guy to contact me, but I wasn't dumb. I knew exactly where he wanted me to go.

I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, pulling up to the very last place I used to call home. I could see images of a younger me playing in the yard, while my Mom watched me from the porch, and my grandma tended to her garden. The town might've changed drastically over the last few years, but this place...it hadn't changed a bit.

"Welcome home." I heard a familiar voice say, sending cold chills down my spine. Before I could respond, let alone turn around, a bag went over my head and I was grabbed by two men. One held me down, while the other tied my wrist together with duct tape. "Throw her in the trunk." They dragged me a few feet, before shoving me into a trunk, and slamming the door shut. Unfortunately, with my arms tied and a bag over my head, I couldn't see anything so escaping was out of the question. I could get out of a trunk, no problem, but I had to remind myself that I had to save my grandma. She needed me and I refused to fail her.

A short drive later, the car came to a complete stop, and I braced myself for what was about to happen next. I was yanked out of the trunk, my arm being gripped tightly, as the bag was snatched from my head. Standing across from me was my grandma, who also had a bag over her head, and her wrists were taped together.

"Grandma!" I called out, as one of the minions snatched the bag off of her head. "We had a deal! I'm here now, so let her go!"

"Melanie, no! You shouldn't have come here, trying to save me!" My grandma cried.

"I wasn't about to let him kill you, when it's me he wants! Now please...let her go!" The Spider Man appeared out of nowhere, pulling a knife from his pocket, and cutting the tape from her wrist.

"I'm not anything, if not a man of my word." He spoke. He then walked towards me, a small smirk on his face. "Oh, but there's also one little problem." He turned, pulling a gun out of his waistband, shooting my grandma. "I agreed to let her go, but...I never agreed to her being alive when I did so."

"NO! GRANDMA!" I screamed, trying to run towards her, but the last thing I remember was being hit in the head; blacking out instantly.

~~~
My eyes slowly fluttered open, coming face to face with complete darkness. My head was throbbing and I could feel cold air all over me, which caused me to shiver.
"H-hello?" I called out. I tried moving my arms, but they were tied down to a chair; along with my ankles. I could hear footsteps approaching, slightly turning my head, before the bag was slipped off of my head. I mean seriously...what's the point of this bag? I looked around, noticing that I was in a barn, stripped down to only a tank top and my underwear.
"David Rossi...the man who took away my trophies." The Spider Man spoke, forcing me to look directly into a camera, that was set up across from where I was sitting. "Is it true that...you have psychic abilities? According to a chapter in David's book, that's how you found out about me." I didn't respond, which caused him to backhand me hard across the face.
"Ah!" I screamed, feeling his sweaty hands wrap around my throat.
"When I ask you a question, you answer!" He let me go and forced me to look into the camera once again. "Now...is it true that you have psychic abilities?"
"Yes..."
"And how do they work?"
"I just have to touch something...or someone, and and I can see into their past or their present." I told him.
"Hm...really? So if I touch your hand, you'll be able to see all the heinous crimes I committed back in the day? Like...when I murdered your mother?" He said, whispering that last part in my ear. I felt a tear slide down my cheek.
"Yeah. That's how I knew you were the one that killed her, because I saw it!"
"Oh yeah? How would you like to see it again?" Before I could respond, he grabbed my hand, and with a force of habit...I closed my eyes. In flashes, I saw every child he kidnapped, doing God awful things to them; before killing them and dumping their bodies. I even saw the trophies he kept from the murders, which was either toys, panties, or their teeth that he pulled himself. And then...I saw it. The day he killed my mother. He was enraged by the fact that I was gone, taking his anger out on my mother, before brutally murdering her.
"STOP! MAKE IT STOP!" I screamed, as he let my hand go. "She didn't deserve to die!"
"No, she didn't, but being the good mother that she was...she was protecting her child from the boogeyman. Or should I say...The Spider Man." He chuckled, cutting the tape from my wrist. "All she had to do was get your grandmother to bring you back, which she didn't, so in all actuality...she did deserve to die." He placed my hand on a table, taping it down flat, to where I couldn't move it.
"What the hell are you doing?!"
"Making up for lost times." He walked up beside me, pointing towards the camera. "Would you like to tell your team, hi?"
"What?" I questioned, furrowing my eyebrows.
"SSA Aaron Hotchner, SSA Derek Morgan, SSA David Rossi, SSA Emily Prentiss, SSA Jennifer Jareau, tech analyst Penelope Garcia, and last but certainly not least...Dr. Spencer Reid." He said. "I've been keeping tabs on them from the very first day you met them, watching you befriend them, and become apart of their team."
"They have nothing do with this!"
"You're right, mí amor, they don't. But David Rossi...he has everything to do with this! He took you away from me and now...it's my turn to take something away from him."
"You already took my grandma away, what more do you want?!" I snapped.
"What I want...is to show him that after all these years...I still won." He said, picking up a hammer and holding it tight in his hand.. The next thing I knew, he slammed the hammer down hard against my hand. I screamed out in pain, as he did it over and over, until I lost all the feeling in that hand. "You might've saved her back then, David Rossi, but trust me when I say...you won't be able to save her again!" And with that, he turned the camera off and walked away, leaving me there sobbing uncontrollably. I tried moving my hand, but I couldn't and I knew that it was only going to get worse from here.
