"Darkness. That's all I see. Yes, nothing else...wait?...where's Tadashi?!"
I sat bolt right up from where I was laying. Brightness flashed at my eyes I blinked rapidly trying to restore my vision. Finally it faded to black dots. I looked around. A hospital.
The machine next to me beeped crazily and I felt thin tubes running across my arms. I felt numbness in my leg but brushed it aside when I saw the shadows through the windows. Four figures one carrying something another pacing the floor. Another figure rushed past them and opened the door, a panicked nurse stepped in.
"I leave you for just a minute and you wake up!" She said exasperated. I looked at my hands ashamed at the trouble. Her breathing calmed. "It's not your fault. It's a good thing you woke up though. She's awake!" She called to the people outside.
I cocked my head in confusion. "Who would come to see me?...." Then I remembered.
Mommy, Daddy, Cass holding a baby, and finally Tadashi walked in. They all spoke at once Tadashi apologizing Mommy and Daddy fussing and Cass calming the baby down after the sudden noise.
The baby had black messy hair and the same brown eyes as Tadashi. The baby quieted after catching my stare. He stared the same way I did. His arms stretched out towards me making little noises. Cass noticed and set the baby down on the hospital bed. He crawled towards me.
"This is Hiro...Tadashi's little brother. He's 3 years old." Cass said when Hiro reached me.
He wrapped his tiny arms around my right arm.
"Hello...Hiro." I said. He looked at me with curiosity in his eyes. His hands made their way to my face feeling it for something. I smiled.
"You're cute you know that." I whispered. He made a small smile imitating my own.
"I guess you and Hiro get along just fine." Cass said.
I nodded but my smiled faded when a soaring pain erupted in my leg. I jumped and the nurse explained.
"You sprained your left ankle pretty badly on the fall. Someone stepped on your ankle...on accident of course." The nurse said lifting the sheets. My ankle was covered in a cast. I sighed.
"Hurt already...." I thought. "What do I do now?" I asked. "You've recovered enough to leave tomorrow but no more running until it's completely healed." She said. "This didn't come from me the doctor told me to tell you he's busy with a surgery." I nodded silently.
"Guys can I talk to (F/N)....alone." Tadashi said.
Daddy glared at him but left with Cass, Mommy, and Hiro.
"(F/N)!" Tadashi said once everyone left. "I'm so sorry...you got hurt and..." He put his head in his hands leaning over the bunk. I patted his hand.
"I slipped and it was that kids fault...who was he?" I asked.
"I...confronted him before me and Cass rushed you to the hospital. His names Haru. He...well...never mind..." He trailed off.
"Well...I hope we don't see Haru again." I said.
"I don't think we will." Tadashi said smiling slyly.
"What'd you do?" I asked crossing my arms.
"I...punched him." He said. My eyes widened in shock.
"TADASHI HAMADA!!!" I screamed. He flinched but before he could speak Daddy rushed in.
"What happened...was it Tadashi?!" Daddy said.
"No, it wasn't anybody." I said now only slightly glaring at Tadashi. Daddy sighed eyeing him as well.
"Well (F/N)...I wanted to tell you that now that you're hurt you certainly can't be by yourself. I've arranged for someone to be with you. To help and all that...." Daddy said almost mumbling.
I looked at him quizzically.
"Who?" I asked as politely as possible.
"Oh, you'll love him. He's really nice. He's the son of one of my friends." He said regaining confidence in his words.
"He?" I asked my eyes widening.
"Yes, his names Haru. Now I need to talk to your mother about that tutor she promised us." My Daddy said before walking out at a quickened pace.
"Haru." Me and Tadashi say at the same time.
"What should I do?" I asked him. He took my hand squeezing it with a gentle smile on his face.
"I'll always be with you, remember that okay." He said.
I nodded before he hesitantly hugged me. We pulled away and I felt tears come up. My first friend was my only friend.
