Forgive me I'm so lazy
Happy New Year tho...
( ✌︎'ω')✌︎

I was cold. Extremely cold. I tried feeling my surroundings. The thing under me was hard, stiff.

"You're awake." My head shot to the side. That man, the older of the two stood next to me. He had white gloves on and he eyed me with a strange look.

"Where am I?" I muttered. I tried lifting my arms and legs but they were held down, the straps were hard. Metal bindings?

"Hello this is AK coming in for another wonderful day in the lab." Lab? My body went cold, a monitor went off.

"The subject is awake as of two minutes ago, it is 8:42AM. The subject is to be tested in various ways in the following weeks, but for today...it will be prep."

"Prep? What sort of prep? What are you testing for? What-"

"I'll explain it all eventually." I hadn't realized I'd spoken aloud. "The subject is actively speaking."

"Yes, yes I am." He looked at me, and rather than a glare he smiled. It scared me more.

"Where's Brandon?" I asked.

"Openly displays emotions."

"Yes,  I am! Where is he?"

He's leverage. Don't cooperate? Then he goes.

The man set the recorder down, he had made no move to end the recording.

"Ok, you wanna know what I'm looking for? You wanna know who this brother of yours is?" My silence was his cue. "That brother of yours he was a genius! Probably smarter than what I've heard you're capable of. Anyway, when you were 8 he was...let's see he was 13! And he was already on his way to being CEO of a very soon to be successful business. Me?" His fists clenched. "I was his...assistant." He snarled.

"Oh, so you were his-" I couldn't help it, I felt an anger rise up. It demanded retaliation.

"Don't say it."

"Pet."

"Anyway..." he gritted his teeth, "I stumbled upon private plans for a...machine that...well very bluntly predicted the future. But the moment I got ahold of the plans a virus took my computer by storm. It deleted the plans and all the copies in waiting."

"What's next?"

"Apparently when I had lost those plans he had as well. He had searched everyone except me to find out who had tried stealing his plans. Meanwhile he told me he had built a test model. I had to find it. But when I cornered him he told me he had destroyed it and had managed to recreate the plans hiding them in a place no one knew. He escaped and went into hiding. I searched for two years! But I'd been searching in all the wrong places." He came toward me. "The safest place for those plans was inside you." I looked at him confused. He laughed.

"What are you talking about?"

"He stored the plans in your memories, in the subconscious. Locked away, until now."

"I don't remember that."

"It's there. You were the only one and he knew it."

"How-"

"You wouldn't want to know." I clenched my fist. He's gonna dissect me or invade my brain with whatever technology he had.

I had to get out of here.

"Isn't there any other way?"

"What? So you don't have to do this? Well, if I found your brother. But I've tried, I've tried for years he disappeared the night you and the rest of his family landed in London. Your parents tried protecting him. He's the reason they're all dead. You're brother Austin too, didn't understand what a match was. He killed himself when he struck the matchbox. Holding that teddy bear of his..."

"You monster." I said.

"Call me that if you will, but this monster is soon going to be rich. I'll monopolize the world!" He declared. There came a huge banging on the door.

"Who are you anyway?" I asked.

"Dr. K!" Someone shouted from a distance. I looked to see that man I had encountered in my room.

"What is it?"

"The boy, he's escaped." Dr. K's look of confidence melted off his face and he turned to the man.

"How?"

"Faked an injury." Was it really fake?

"There's always a problem. Always." Dr. K muttered. He released my bindings and the other man came closer. "Watch her, I'll go and oversee the situation."

"Yes sir." He said.

"I'm warning you Agent, this'll be over your head." Then Dr. K shed his lab coat and ran out of the dark room. The man, Agent, watched me as I got off the table. He grabbed me by the arm and I moved sluggishly. Maybe Brandon would get out alive, then maybe they'd be able to come back for me.

"Is Agent really your name?"

"To Dr. K it is, but you can call me..." he paused and looked at me, I waited. "Jason."

"How old are you?"

"17."

"Where's your family?" The question came out forced, it was a thought and it processed to speech. He stopped abruptly. "Something wrong?" He made a face.

"Stop asking questions, this isn't Q&A." I frowned and continued walking. I could hear echoes of shouting in the hallways.

"How long have you been working for-"

"No more questions...more than 2 years." This guy was strange, he told me to be quiet but his actions hinted nothing of the sort.

What are you hiding?

As we walked I realized the way to my room was in the opposite direction. He was leading me somewhere else. Suddenly I was afraid to ask where. He walked me to a hallway with a dead end. At the end I saw a bright light.

Was that the outside?

My heart skipped a beat. But instead of heading for that door he stopped at another room, he entered making no motion for me to follow. I peered in, maybe I could run.

Something was tossed at me. I caught it. A pack.

"What's this?" He came out of the room with two more packs.

"We're leaving." Then sirens went off.

Just to make things clear, you're 12 as of now.
I'll try and make it obvious your age so you don't get confused.

I hope I haven't said anything contradictory, I honestly can't remember (my fault)

So to be clear you're 12, going into 7th grade.

Thanks guys for your support :)
