The Skeleton

I groaned as I came to. It hurts. I rose my skull, trying to sit up. I was in a small cave, the glow of a fire bounced off the walls. The fire was near the front entrance. In front of the fire was a skeleton. He was large with a torn and bloody hoodie and black shorts. Most noticeably he had a large hole in his skull and a large red eye... "W-"
"stay down. you're still wounded." His voice was deep and grovely. He turned to stare at me. "my saliva can only do so much. i've sealed your wounds, but they need to heal." Wounds? I risked looking away from the skeleton to myself. My shirt and hoodie had been removed, exposing my ribs and my pants legs had been pushed up. I was also now without shoes. A translucent red substance coated every crack and injury on me and a red stained blue bandana covered my ribcage. As if reading my thoughts, the skeleton spoke up again. "figured you wouldn't appreciate your soul being exposed to me, so i gave your bandana back." I gave him a bewildered look while he gave me a predatory smile.

It was him. It was really him. He was the wolf, the wolf was him. "What are you?"
"i am a lone wolf." He replied as if it were obvious. "But you're a skeleton now."
"everyone has two forms here. except for you, apparently. why is that?"
"Uh.." He chuckled. "i believe i've already figured it out. the shift in the atmosphere was strange, you are even stranger. usually when a monster is wounded, it shifts back into it's wolf state. that's when you found me. you're not actually from this world, are you?" I shook my head. "I.. don't think so." He tilted his head. "thank you, for your hospitality. now we are even." He picked at the hole in his skull absentmindedly. "the names sans." So he.. was me? In this world? Stars what have I gotten myself into. "My name is Sans too, but you can call me Blue." He rose from the fire, red eye on me. "kinda figured. you can call me... horror." He decided. "Why Horror?"
"you'll see, you'll see." He replied stalking close to me. He leaned over me, eye examining me closely and making my cheekbones heat up. "Horror.. what are you doing?!"
"all checks out. i've sealed them before infection could set in. you can leave in a few days." He went back to the fire.

It went silent. It was uncomfortable after his.. check up? So I decided to break it. "How'd you get a spear in your skull?"
"undick crossed into my territory so i had to teach her a lesson. damn land shark." He growled aggressively. Apparently it was a sensitive topic. "Sorry, didn't mean to bring back bad memories." He snorted. "how'd you end up in this world?"
"Curiosity almost killed the cat." I replied sheepishly. "I found I place and fixed a machine I wasn't supposed to know about. Now I'm lost here with no way home." Horror hummed. "Is every monster here a wolf?" He nodded. "We all have a wolf form and a monster form. most of us even live in packs."
"But you don't." He growled again. "it's my turn to ask a question. what's it like in your world?" What are we suddenly playing 20 questions? "It's nice enough. The monsters are friendly. We aren't shapeshifters though."
"What's it like here?"
"... in this world it's eat or be eaten." I shivered. "sleep, you'll heal faster."

Horror POV

His actions suddenly make a lot more sense. In a world were monsters are buddy buddy with each other, of course he'd save my life. Honestly if he hadn't.. I would have eaten him by now. I'd picked up on the approaching storm, I was looking to shelter us as a token of my gratitude. Than it would have been survival as usual, next time I would have found him, he would have been my meal since the debt was paid. But he hadn't been where I left him. The rain started falling and I started tracking before the scent could be washed away. He was so vulnerable when I found him, his blood smelled so fucking good. I needed a taste. He tasted wonderful, I was hooked, but he called to me, snapped me out of it. I shifted as he passed out from the shock and blood loss. Then I'd carried him here and striped him down. He was lucky his skull and soul wasn't harmed, unlike mine. He was handsome. Much handsomer than I thought, I'd give him that. I had to cover his soul as not to give in to my sudden desire to breed him. Damn instincts.
