Sero always had the same customers, even the occasional complainer. He usually made the same drinks for the same people, and he always remembered their names. Even so, he never had a customer he wanted to get to know more who talked to him. This job was just for some extra money, nothing more. Although, there was one customer that never ordered anything. All he ever did was come in and draw in his sketchbook. The thing had been through thick and thin. Some balls of paper were always crumpled next to him, and bottled water threatened to spill on the newly illustrated pages. He usually just wore jeans and a polo, nothing too special, but one thing that stood out about him was his hair. Its beautiful crimson and silvery contrast was something Sero had ever seen before. Likewise, his eyes were icy blue and smoky, like a cloud on a stormy day. Yet, his stoic personality threatened to lure Sero into curiosity. After all, he was just a customer, but he never went unnoticed. The graphite stained his fingers and pages, which added to the illustration. The guy was insanely talented, no doubt about it. As Sero stared at the page, wondering what was on it this time, he mindlessly tightened the bow on his apron. He wondered if the boy felt the same about him. Sero was never mysterious. His feelings were always worn on his sleeve. He usually wore regular black pants and a graphic t-shirt of his favorite band underneath his apron. The pins on his apron were of his favorite anime characters. He wore many bracelets on his wrists, and had a few ear piercings. He had jet black messy hair and dark eyes that blended in with his pupils. He fidgeted with the rings on his fingers as we waited for the next customer to walk in. He wondered if it would ever be different. Would the guy ever talk to him? Would an exciting customer engage in conversation instead of Sero? He just wanted some change, yet he never got it. He was eager for a new beginning.
Occasionally, some of Sero's friends would drop in. A frequent visitor was Denki Kaminari, a lively guy with a bad dye job. He got Sero to do his roots once, and it didn't turn out so good. Another visitor he gets pretty often is Jiro Kyoka; a walking Hot Topic. She always wears graphic tees and convinced Sero to get his ears pierced. He was grateful for all of his friends, but it was kind of awkward when they burst in yelling his name, especially Mina Ashido. Mina was a bubbly girl with quite a personality. She always knew how to get a party started, and that's not a good setting for a quiet coffee shop. One time she came in and started flirting with his co-worker. He was so embarrassed, but he didn't stop her. The customers sure got a good laugh out of it, but certainly not Katsuki Bakugo, another one of his friends who decided to tag along. He had spiky ash-blonde hair and quite the temper. He was never a people person, so Sero was shocked he agreed to visit him at his job. Bakugo worked at a skate shop down the road, and since he was on his break, he decided to join Mina. Bad idea. He never came back with Mina again. Although, he sometimes came with other people, such as Eijiro Kirishima. Kirishima also had a bad dye job because he did his hair himself. Every Sunday, he dyed his roots, so they're never showing. He told people the bright neon red hair that he had was natural. No one believed him except Kaminari. Shocking.
Nevertheless, it was the same dull day it was before. None of his friends were going to walk in at any moment unexpectedly. The only thing Sero could do without getting bored was watch the quick movement of the pencil. It glided across the pages so gracefully. It danced amongst every part of the page, never missing a stroke. It looked so wonderful. That was until the boy stood up. That was until he started walking toward the counter. Sero was panicking. What should I say? What should I do? Take his order? Well, of course, that's what any average barista would do. Get a grip, Sero! He thought, beating himself up in the process.
"Hi, what can I get you today?" he said with a smile; that's what he usually says to people that want to order something.
"Um, I don't wanna order anything. I, uh, actually made something... I hope you don't mind," the boy said, averting his eyes from Sero. Sero was shocked. The boy he had been so curious about had made something for him?
"No, I don't mind. What did you make?" Sero asked, his hands shaking a bit. A cute boy had never talked to him before, let alone made him something. The boy slid over a folded piece of paper with evident pencil markings inside.
"You," Sero paused for a moment, "you drew me?"
"Yeah, you're always here when I'm drawing, so I thought I'd draw you because I didn't have any inspiration," he said. Sero was amazed. No one had ever done something this nice for him!
"Thank you so much," Sero said, exhaling. He opened the paper, and when he saw what was there, his mouth fell open. It was a beautiful, realistic drawing, and it looked exactly like him.
"I hope you like it," the boy said. He quickly turned around to leave, but Sero interrupted him.
"It's beautiful! I- uh- thank you again!" he said. The boy flashed him a smile and walked out the door. As the chime followed his presence leaving, Sero looked down back at the picture, except he noticed something different. There was a phone number at the edge of the page.
A/N - Hey! This is one of my first pretty long chapters (and story) so I hope you enjoy it! School is busy atm so I will try my best to update once or twice a week. Mid-terms are coming up so I won't upload much then, but from then on it will be pretty regular. I hope you like this cheesy fluffy story as much as I do writing it.
