𝐘𝐀𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐈 didn't really think he'd accept whatever shit she started with him, but he did anyway. On the counterpart of the two, however, one was feeling very conceited about the other. And that would be Sakusa.
Remembering the days of his rivalry with a girl he find to be very special and reliving the moment probably was one of the things he'd gladly accept. Even if it means having to somehow be seen as a monster by the likes of her along the way.
But he was determined to end it smoothly, maybe he would even awknowledge how he feels for her along the process.
The very next day, Sakusa went to school earlier than usual, hoping to have one look at the girl he previously met yesterday. However, truth be told, he never did daw her.
"Why are you always looking at your sides? Are you looking for someone?" His cousin asked him, overfilling with suspicion.
Both him and Komori was side by side with each other as they ate their lunch at a table occupied by nearly no one.
"I haven't seen Junko yet. She's not in her classroom, not in the laboratory, and she's not even in the cafeteria. Is she dead, or what?" He angrily took a bite on his lunch as he ranted, but it only made Komori look at him like he's gone mad. He chuckled from his cousin's bluntness.
"You're too honest, Kiyoomi." Komori detailed, getting his attention. "Couldn't you just admit that you like her? It's not that hard. And it's not like it'll be the end of the world if you admit it. Man up, geez."
"Quit it. No, I don't like her. I just want to keep up with her, no romance involved." It almost sounded like a hiss, how he said the excuse only made Komori sigh but he continued gobbling down his lunch while Sakusa was deep in thoughts. He would never admit it.
Lunch ended soon enough, but before Sakusa was about to head out and go to his classroom, a hand pulled him away from doing so. "The principal wants you in his office."
The familiar mellow voice of Yasumi Junko entered his ear.
It didn't take long for the boy however to follow her. Looking back from when she called him, she didn't seem like she was in the mood to talk to him so he just followed her and remained quiet up until him and Yasumi reached the principal's office.
"Don't sit here. Sit opposite from me." Yasumi gestured when he was about to take the space aside her, breaking him free from being devoured by his thoughts as she yanked him down to a couch. She didn't bother being concerned with his phobia and sat herself as well.
"Where's principal Makoto?" Sakusa asked, looking around only to find no one else other than the two of them. The atmosphere wasn't stuffy anymore, but it sure had something that confused him.
"That doesn't matter. It's not like he'll tell us something positive anyway." Yasumi clicked her tongue and sighed for the nth time as she looked at him.
He had curiosity in his eyes and she hated it. She couldn't help but feel wasted as she looked at this so-called rival of hers.
"So you know what topic he'll discuss with us then?" Her eyebrow twitched from his question and she just sighed once again before telling him what he wanted to hear.
"There's this upcoming event in Kyoto, I submitted my Research Paper first. But he thought your Research plan and design was better than mine. And he didn't want to kick me out so he did something impulsive."
Yasumi looked at him with hostility, hatred and envy. Sakusa could feel her burning gaze and he gulped, there's no way he can refuse the proposal.
"He wants the two of us to work on it. . . as co-researchers."
