𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐘 of yesterday's event stayed vivid in Yasumi's mind. The bitter taste of failure kept her up all night, to the point that her eyes turned red from constant crying and now, aside from her puffy eyes, she has to calmly not lose control of her emotions and grudges because of all the eyes that looked at her with pity. She didn't want pity.

Her classmates took quick glances at her every few seconds as she sits quietly on her seat, blankly staring at the window beside her with her hands sitting on her lap. She gazed outside, easily awestruck by the beauty of winter and how even something so beautiful can be so harsh.

"Winter... It's just like that jerk." She whispered.

Yasumi couldn't careless of the unwanted stares that she received as time passed, the music coming from her headphones was what occupied her mind. Perhaps she can handle herself after all, she knew best of it.

Soon, class started and she felt more preoccupied than she ever was for the last sixteen years of her life. For the first time in a long time, she didn't bother listening to her teacher speaking and teaching. She didn't try to disguise it, she plainly just did.

As class went on and as she wasted hours sitting like a thinking statue, her friends and classmates couldn't help but look at her direction with worried eyes. They all looked at her ever so slightly. Even the teacher noticed how timidly Yasumi was acting, how indifferent. But the class continued on pretty much like how it usually does, perhaps maybe until it ended and Yasumi was left with a void of people talking.

She sighed aggravatedly, tired physically and she was feeling her eyes closing. But she was disturbed.

"Yasumi-san, are you okay?"

Her gaze hardened, displeased. Those were the first words she heard when the four-hour morning-class ended. She looked up from her desk to see her classmates huddled around her seat, and at least five of them were asking her questions she didn't want to answer.

"Yasumi, don't think much about your lose, okay?"

"You know, Yasumi-chan is the smartest and most talented person I know, please don't think about it that much!"

"I really think they purposely made you lose, Yasumi-san."

"Yasumi-san, don't worry! You're still one of the 3 top students, so it doesn't matter."

Her classmates were starting to tick her off, big time, and she certainly minded how wrong and stupid they were for reminding her so many times about a major competition she had had previously, and most of all, had lost in.

"It does matter..." She mumbled in an upset tone. Yasumi stood up from her seat, pushed away all the people and instantly barged out from her classroom all while her eyes spilled with unwanted tears.

She hustled through the hallways of Itachiyama Institute, bumping into people without much care. Until, in a deserted hallway, she crashed into a tall figure that made her trip her foot and fall to her bottom.

"Huh? It's you... Yasumi Junko." She heard a familiar voice. She looked up and, unfortunately, she saw a familiar face that made her wanna jump.

Sakusa looked down on her and he felt her glare at him for a few seconds. Even before he can try to help her out of her situation, which he felt the need to comply, he was stopped.

Because of all the hatred Yasumi had developed for him in just a day because of one stupid competition, she ended up standing on her feet and staring at him straight into his eyes. Unbeknowst to the guy, Yasumi was having a hard time controlling her emotion.

With her cold hands, she slapped the ego out of him as she yelled. "It's all your fault, Sakusa Kiyoomi!"

"It's all your fault, Sakusa Kiyoomi!"
